High end Korean temple food

I visited a few months back in May 2022. The atmosphere is gorgeous as a high end restaurant. I was a bit disappointed they have switched to being an omni restaurant but there are many vegan options available.

Between two of us with a decent appetite, we needed three dishes. We tried 1) Sweet & Spicy Mushroom with Assorted Vegetables ($258); 2) Bibimbap ($198); and 3) Blessed Tofu Skin Pocket stuffed with Sweet Potato Noodle ($238). I enjoyed all of the food here. The flavours particularly of 2) and 3) were delicate and mild (not surprising as they describe themselves as providing Korean temple food), whilst 1) is more of a comfort food dish.

I think this place is worth visiting, as the space is gorgeous and calming and it has beautiful views, it is a unique concept in Hong Kong and the food was good, but it is not overwhelming and the price point is quite high to eat here often.

Other than staff not sure what is vegan and what is not the chef cleared it up

「鋤禾日當午 汗滴禾下土 誰知盤生花 粒粒高金額」

又係一間on list已久但一直無食嘅餐廳,原因又係嗰個:錢💰。然後突然有日肉女發現用某app book位有某啲時段做緊5-6折‼️ 試‼️

不過我打喺下面嘅係原價,等大家了解下佢嘅定價係咩一回事😀。

// 薯蓉蒸香菇 $128 //

薯蓉唔係西式嗰種🍨,而係一粒粒薯仔碎咁樣嘅物體,所以口感唔係綿密柔軟,而係顆粒感爽爽地、整體偏濕潤嘅薯仔堆🥔。

調味偏淡,冇乜特別味,薯味亦都唔係濃,主要嘅味都係下面嚿菇嘅味🍄,菇口感爽彈。四份嘅香菇底下又係揾咗啲菇墊底,應該係蟲草菇?

我返到屋企諗諗下🤔🤔🤔,蟲草菇點解會係素食呢🌱,上網揾揾先知原來可以人工培植喺穀物上面,雖然其實我都唔確定,甚至佢係咪蟲草菇我都唔肯定⛑。

食落有種藥材嘅味道,質感爽脆。整體成份嘢我哋覺得有啲太淡,唔止係調味方面,食材本身都唔係味道太突岀嗰啲,夾埋一齊無乜效果🌝。整體來講就係清淡

一嚟到第一個反應係個份量都真係幾少(◐‿◑),有四卷泡菜,同埋少少湯🥣(真係少少,可能因為其實佢重點唔係湯,係泡菜,我誤會咗)。
泡菜感覺新鮮爽脆,酸甜醒晨(˶‾᷄ ⁻̫ ‾᷅˵),配埋個凍湯(汁),開胃清爽,我覺得做到我預期嘅效果,肉女就覺得太酸,佢麻麻地。

// 韓式泡菜煎餅 $228 //

口感外微微脆內軟,唔算煙韌,偏粉🫓;泡菜味比預期淡,可能因為無五辛嘅關係味道唔係平時泡菜煎餅咁香咁惹味🌶,上面有啲芝麻反而仲香過塊餅本身,隨碟嘅汁酸酸甜甜我覺得係救返個煎餅少少🫕。

// 招牌甜辣酥炸菇菌 $258 //

雜菇包咗炸皮去炸,做到滿意嘅脆感,然後用韓式甜辣醬炒配啲雜菜噉樣🥘,味道夠香濃,甜辣醬有啲淡淡發酵嘅味道,重口味人士必試。略嫌炸皮偏厚身,同入邊嘅菇對比上嚟顯得菇有啲細粒,不過我哋都一致認同呢個係好食嘅d(^_^o)。

// 酥炸韓式豆腐三文治(6件)$228 //

我一見到呢個已經想試,感覺好似幾新奇噉樣🥸,實物係兩塊都幾厚嘅硬豆腐夾住中間一層菇粒粒。外皮炸得脆,咬落去豆腐軟綿,有豆味,中間嘅菇幾香,點埋佢個醬汁,酸酸地鹹鹹地正好中和咗炸嘢油膩感,呢個配搭小蕉幾滿意。不過肉女一食已經feel到豆腐索咗唔少油,心諗點解小蕉會唔覺。

呢個一開始以為係普通餃子🥟,但諗諗吓似乎係用一塊蘿蔔嚟做個皮包餡,咁就一定要試下喇~用蘿蔔嚟包真係感覺幾手工菜,薄薄一片半透明蘿蔔包住豆腐同泡菜,蘿蔔薄得嚟仲有啲微爽嘅口感,微微香甜,餡有清香豆味同少少泡菜味,清淡但係唔平淡嘅菜式,小蕉覺得呢個幾有精緻細膩嘅感覺d(^_^o)。

跟據佢哋喺K11網站嘅介紹,佢哋嘅行政總廚係一個跟過韓國住持學習寺廟素食多年嘅韓籍人🇰🇷,呢間餐廳就係想將韓國寺廟素食引入香港☸️,等大家體驗下唔同風格嘅素食。

平心而論,唔計價錢,佢哋嘅食物質素我覺得係中上👍🏻,未算好精緻,配搭亦都未算好驚艷不過絕對係有心思有質素嘅素食。不過,睇埋個價錢💰,我就真係未必會再食,雖然喺呢個地方、同K11個「空中花園」同層就預咗係會離哂地⛲️,不過以呢個價錢,服務真係唔太得🤵🏻‍♀️🤵🏻‍♂️,食物質素亦未算值得,半價咗好似先合理啲👷🏻‍♂️,可能係我哋唔識欣賞,或者揀錯菜式試?(◐‿◑)

Grateful for the concept but need improvement on flavour

As a Korean (spoiled by grandmas world class cooking) I had to try this vegan restaurant. I ordered a big set menu, around HKD550

There were SO many courses made up of tiny appetizer size dishes (Korean temple style) - that I was hoping at least one would to be tasty😒Lots of great textures and dishes with potential, but very minimal or wrong/overpowering flavours.

Great presentation, it’s such a shame the execution wasn’t ideal. I want to support this restaurant for doing what they’re doing, though. And I’m hoping it was bad luck with this menu… just upset I spent so much

Pros: The only restaurant of its kind in HK, Beautiful ideas and presentation , Fuels your soul

Cons: Flavours lacking or not tasty , Service not immaculate for the money spent , Lacking protein considering I tried so much food

I had the afternoon tea set last year and it was equally disappointing. Not a single one of the desserts were edible.

Amazing! Must try!

Wow, it’s super great restaurant! Great ambiance and service and food. 10/10! Food harmony is just great! It’s influenced by Korean Buddhist food, so you can have good quality Korean taste. Must visit!!
