A great place to eat! Affordable, many vegan choices, the soups and other dishes are always delicious. They even have vegan cheesešIf you say you're vegan, you will get delicious, homemade hummus with your bread in stead of butter (with your soup). The restaurant itself is very cosy (not modern, but really 'gezellig' as we Dutch people say). Don't leave Alkmaar before you've been to this place!

Soepp is a great place. It's very cozy and everything is for sale.
Read moreThey have a changing menu with usually a few soups and sandwiches, all vegetarian or vegan.
The peanutsoup, thom kai soup and peasoup are great. Also their sandwich with vegan croquettes was awesome!
They also serve a very nice homemade herbalbutter with bread with the soups.

The restaurant feels like a livingroom full of retro-items. Most of the items are for sale. The people who work there are very kind. There is no menucard because they serve different dishes every time. Almost the whole menu is vegan. Even the biscuits you get when you order tea or coffee. I will certainly go back when I'm in Alkmaar again!

A beautiful spot we luckily found after a heavy bike trip. It was perfect. So cozy and so lovely! The decoration and the atmosphere is original and old all at the same time, full of beautiful stuff everywhere. The food is really good and its almost all vegan, so no problem finding vegan options. The owner is such a delightful character, with a very big heart; no wonder this place is doing so well!

Savoury Stuff For A Snugly Sunday - Edit
A little, cozy, vintage-style place serving good vegan options, served by very nice and flexible staff. We had a tasty curry-lentil soup, which came with some hummus and bread, followed by a delicious pastry as dessert. A variety of lemonades is available, too! I sincerely hope this place goes vegan at some point, which would be the last reservation I'd have about it.

Our family had a wonderful weekday lunch with several vegan options. Our kids had sandwiches made of fresh spelt bread with hummus, vegan cheese, and veggies, and also a quinoa salad. Today they had four vegan soup options: cauliflower curry, Turkish lentil, Indian lentil, and mushroom. We had the first two which were delicious -- our kids wanted to order more, but we saved room for dessert.
Read moreVegan desserts were raw cheesecakes in four flavors: mango, lime avocado, double chocolate, bounty (chocolate coconut). We had one of each and all were amazing, especially the double chocolate. They wrote down the ingredients for us. Also, espresso was good and strong.
Service was good. The tables filled up while we were there, including two other families with kids. One may need to go early to be seated if more crowded on the weekend!

"Soepp" (= the soup) at Alkmaar is a very cosy veg/vegan restaurant. They are very friendly and flexible - vegan, gluten free, no sugar,.... everything is possible. Not only for veggies, everyone should enjoy food & Coffee & Tee & more.

Cozy Spot for Totally Delicious Home-Made Soups! - Edit
Hungry and in the neighborhood, we found this small, cozy, inviting place, which serves 5 or 6 home-made soups daily. Most soups are vegetarian or can be made vegan by omitting toppings, such as cheese. They're made from scratch daily, w/ organic, fresh ingredients. On the day we visited, they served zucchini soup (optional blue cheese), roasted red pepper soup,Indian-spiced lentil soup & French onion soup (optional cheese). My choice, fennel w/ roasted cauliflower and chickpea soup, was served with wonderful whole grain spelt bread & hummus. They also serve espresso, tea, other drinks, as well as vegan pastries. The soup was delicious, thick & filling and was clearly made from only wonderful veggies. Very cute place w/ friendly service, which deserves the business!!

Soepp ist not a real vegetarian or vegan place, but they do have vegetarian and vegan soeps. Everything is supposed to be organic and they do not use microwaves to heat up the soeps. Nice ladies and cozy location.
