great option for lunch

I adore this place. The menu is nice, the Banoffee dessert is a dream, and the food tastes delicious. Of course the decor is not restaurant like but obviously it’s a canteen and for what it is I like it a lot!

Pros: Always a vegan option, Fair portions/price

Affordable and ready to serve lunch

Updated Menu can be checked here:

Main dish includes salad and there are generally beautiful side dishes (some vegan) to choose from (e.g. burgers, pastries or big mushrooms). Their quality is superb, with amazingly flavorful condiments. Their soups are some of the best I tried.

For takeaway it's better to take your own container, but they have aluminium ones as an alternative.

Pros: Food combos (vegan/no-gluten), Great food quality, One dish full of veggies variety

Home Cook Feeling

Really nice Cantina styled place with nice food. The cook is knowledgeable about nutrition. No weekly or fixed menus. It's not the most obvious place, cantina is in the basement.

Pros: - Nice home cooked style food, - Cook knows about nutrition , - Nice ambient

good food!

When you want to start off the day with a good meal for little money, this place is perfect. It's not a real restaurant, but more like a cantina. Good value, nice people.

Don't go there in a while but...

...it was one of my fav spots in years!
Not expensive and soul food with a taste of "home" cooking.
All with a macro touch, some desserts are Vegan and everyday has one or more Vegan plates to go for.
It's Cantina styled but it's worth the 4 storeys you have to climb (in a matter of speech).

Pros: Good home cooked food, Has Vegan desserts, The place has its charm

Cons: 4 storeys without elevator

Dona Ju's kitchen...

I have been many times to this place, as it is just around the corner for me.
It is a cantine: please don't expect exquisite decoration and stuff like that. The place is very quiet and Dona Ju is an extremely friendly and accomplished cook. As I see it, she is very much the 'soul' of that society.

The food is very good, using organic ingredients. You can buy some of them upstairs if you want. They have a little shop.
I have never left this place unhappy. The soups are very good and so are the desserts and main dish. There is a lot a variety re the main dish. That is a big plus, so it encompasses what you can or cannot eat. Tell the cook if you can't eat a specific ingredient. They serve nice and warm free teas. Also, the menu is constantly changing throughout the month, which I think is good.

You can eat very well there under 10 euros and have a meal with a quality that is similar or even superior to many vegetarian restaurants in Lisbon (charging 2 or 3 times more).

Home-style cooking

Dona Ju (Mrs. Ju) is the nice owner of the cantine, she cooks with love and the food shows it!

Inexpensive and quite place to have lunch :)

Pros: Quiet, Inexpensive, Home-style cooking

Cons: Not Vegan, Main room is downstairs, Not very cosy
