Would not recommend - Edit
Unfortunately, the tables are sticky and the place seems quite dirty.
Read moreMoreover, the food is not tasty - it does not taste fresh or interesting at all.
The soup was flavourless, the mushroom "meat" was soggy in sauce, not enjoyable to eat. Rice was overcooked, kimchi tasted old, as well as the vegan cheese/veggie side dish . Service was slow, of course, because the poor old lady is on her own. Maybe she could get somebody to help out? I agree this place should get some attention since it's fully vegan, a five star review seems however very eccessive. Had a terrible first night in Busan because of these false reviews.
Pros: Vegan
Cons: Dirty - tables are sticky! , Slow - very! , Not tasty at all, food tastes old

Amazingly tasty food and friendly host - Edit
We stopped in for a late lunch after visiting the culture village in the morning and were so glad we did! There are only 4 tables inside so our late arrival probably worked in our favour, but it looks like food is served all afternoon.
Read moreWe chose the tofu stew and the rice in lotus leaf dishes, which came with the day's soup and plenty of banchan. The tofu stew was out of this world! One of the best things I've tasted, and it packed a spicy kick that I haven't found from much other vegan food in Korea. The tofu in the soup was such a wonderful texture too. All the other food was great too, including an unnervingly beef-like banchan.
Our host was really friendly and welcoming and sent us off with some vegan biscuits.
Pros: Amazing tofu stew, Great variety of banchan, Friendly host

I ate here at least once a week, usually more often, the entire year I lived in Busan. I will miss this place, this food, and most of all, the woman behind it all, she's a true gem!

Amazing Korean vegan food - Edit
This restaurant is a great opportunity to try authentic Korean food without animal products.
Read moreI ordered the spicy tofu stew (순두부찌개) which came with several side dishes such as kimchi and rice. The meal was cheap, delicious and filling, and you could request more side dishes if desired.
The only con is the small seating area - I arrived at opening time and all four tables were quickly filled. I would definitely recommend arriving early.
Definitely worth checking out if you are in Busan!

Wow, that’s such an awesome vegan Korean experience!! - Edit
I was craving so much for a vegan Korean place since most of vegan places are westernised.
Read moreThe place is so cozy, small menu (finally not overwhelming 😅), and the lady working there is amazing. An activist and veteran. So much respect as it’s so hard to be vegan in korea.
Everything tastes just right. If you take side dishes you get a chance to try lots of Korean small dishes.
She also serves lots of Korean snacks. Even ramen or peanut butter chocolates (I bought 2, so tasty!)

Best fried soy chicken - Edit
Absolutely delicious. We ordered 3 dishes and loved them all. Our favourite was definitely the fried soy chicken though, super yummy!! It came with sweet chilli sauce which was the perfect flavour for it. It was easy to find with maps, and not too far to travel to from Gamcheon Culture Village. We arrived around 2:30pm and 1 of the dishes we originally wanted to try had already sold out. We also got the last serving of the fried chicken. Probably would be best to go a bit earlier to avoid missing out on anything you'd like to try. Would recommend! 😊

Delightful. A true 5 star experience in Busan. - Edit
Beautiful perilla seed soup with noodles, mouth-watering scorched rice in sweet and sour sauce, and the most moist and tender fried soy "chicken" you've ever had - plus sides that are refilled upon request. The staff is friendly and attentive too. Situated in a restaurant / market neighbourhood that is fun to wander through.

Great korean style food - Edit
Great korean style food. We had the soybean paste soup and the scorched rice and both were delicious. Also the side dishes tasted very good. This place is perfect for having lunch after visiting gamcheon culture village, because it's easy to go from there by bus. The owner was really nice and speaks very good english. They also sell some vegan products like cookies and ramen.

Best Meal I’ve had in Korea - Edit
By far the best meal I’ve had in Korea! The rice wrapped in lotus leaf was delicious, along side a soup, sweet potato pancake, fake meat and other side dishes. The vegetables were fresh and well seasoned. Delighted to be able to eat vegan traditional Korean food.

Super yummy vegan Korean food. - Edit
I had the soft tofu stew and it was so yummy, as were all the side dishes. I love vegan options in Korea that still give you a chance to try the flavours of Korean cuisine - Soban Vegan is the perfect place for that.

THE vegan restaurant to visit in Busan - Edit
I visit Soban every time I'm in Busan, sometimes more than once. This wonderful woman makes amazing traditional Korean stews and side dishes, including lots of varying seasonal veggies and mushrooms, and excellent use of vegan meats. She is passionate about the animals and about cooking, and it shows in every way.

Food was so tasty and it was plenty. Prepare to share if you want to explore the menu! The place is rather small but it is worth the wait. Starters with multiple small plates were all fantastic and the fried fake chicken was just delicious. We were lucky to meet another super friendly vegan which made the dinner unforgettable.

Authentic Korean Food! - Edit
We were so happy to find this cute place! The owner is very nice and dedicated. But most importantly, the food was great! Since vegan places are often westernized, the variety of authentic Korean dishes was outstanding. If I had to choose, my favorite one would be the tofu stew. However, I can fully recommend the place and to try as much as possible!

Spirit of Traditional Korean Cuisine - Edit
Having traveling from the northern tip to the southern tip of South Korea, the dishes at Soban Vegan reaffirms why traditional Korean cuisines are backed by one of the longest preserved food culture around the world. Embodied with the spirit of vegan movement, you will find the dishes here nothing much different from Korean cuisine that are often unsuitable for vegans - one may even claim that the food here are much better than the meat versions.
Read moreWith a motherly touch from the store owner, the gastronomical food would simply blow your mind away despite how simple the dishes on the menu are - nothing out of the ordinary yet filled with a depth of wealth on knowledge of Korean cuisines.
Highly recommend to try the stews and fried chicken - guarantees the best around the town!
