The Best Vegan Restaurant in Busan - Edit
I've tried all of the vegan restaurants in Busan, and I can definitively proclaim that Soban vegan is the best there is. I've kept coming back here since they've opened and I have dinner here at least a few times a month. The owner is incredibly kind and friendly, like a dear grandma. She is very sensitive to dietary needs and has a deep understanding of veganism. She can adjust the meal to your liking and remove aliums upon request. All food is gluten free. Many vegans come to Korea and want to try authentic local cuisine, but unfortunately, so much of the food contains animal ingredients, especially seafood aand pork. Luckily, at Soban, you'll be able to experience authetic Korean traditional cruisine without any of the animal products. Everything is 100% vegan.
Read moreIf it's your first first time at Soban, you've got to try the soy chicken and soft tofu stew. They are probably the most popular menu items. The chicken is phenomenal from the crispy coating to the juicy tenderness. Some friend who eat meat claim it's better than the real thing. The soft tofu stew will warm your soul with it's spicy chillis and delightful ban chan (side dishes). I think it enhances the stew to add the ban chan to the broth.
My favorite items are the bamboo stew and the progo gangjeong (spicy shiitake mushrooms). I'm not a huge mushroom fan but absolutly love this dish, it's cooked to perfections and comes sprinkled with some tasty nuts for a nice crench and also has a touch of spice for a little extra kick!
After your meal, the owner will serve you with a refreshing fruit plate and a hot drink to wash down your food. You can also buy some vegan groceries and frozen goods afterwards to take with you. The restaurant is small with only 4 tables but there's usually a spot available. You also might have to wait a little bit because the food is prepared from scratch and can take a while if there are many guests. You will definitly leave feeling satisfied and will probably be back! Soban is the best in town!
Pros: Incredibly tasty, authetic, and soul warming food, Delightful owner, Affordable price and good portions

The food was cheap, delicious and generous servings! The lady was so generous too, giving us extra rice and not allowing us to pay extra.

Lovely spot in Busan - Edit
One of my favorite spots during my stay in Busan! We tried the spicy tofu stew and the doenjang jjigae, both were delicious! Special mention to the fake chicken, which had a really good texture and sauce. The owner was also very friendly. We’ll definitely go back if we ever travel to Busan again! 🤍

Nice little restaurant - Edit
Lovely little place which also sells some instant noodles and other groceries. I tried the tofu soup which needed a bit more salt and spices, but the "chicken" and the side dishes were very tasty!

My comfort food Kimchi Jjigae 😋 - Edit
My fav soft tofu kimchi jiigae! This is my comfort food to go on tough rough days & nights (or the days I am not so good being a human) But today my heart is filled with so much love, joy and peace while enjoying my jigae, with gratitude and appreciation. Thank you for the chef making good vegan food! A grateful heart is a magnet for miracles. Namaste! 🌿🙏

Amazing Vegan Spot in Busan! - Edit
The food here was insanely delicious — everything was so flavorful and fresh! The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and they even gave us watermelon, which was such a sweet touch 🍉. One of the best vegan meals I’ve had in Korea. Definitely recommend if you're in Busan!

It good - 7/10 - Edit
The food here is decent but when I went the menu was limited and many of the dishes were just sweet and sour dishes and I'm not the biggest fan of them.
Read moreIt does have a smaller homely vibe but unforutanely a lot of the menu and food felt like side dishes and not full, feeling meals but this is an overarching issue for me when it comes to vegan Korean food.
Also, this was quite out of the way from anywhere I'd usually go, so it loses slight points on location for me.
Overall it does what it needs to but nothing exceptional just a solid standard vegan restaurant in Korea.

A Must-visit in Busan – Homely, authentic, and absolutely delicious - Edit
Wow—what a great experience! Soban might just be the best vegan restaurant we tried in Busan. It’s a small, cosy spot with only four tables, giving it a warm, homely atmosphere. The food feels like something a Korean grandmother would cook—authentic, comforting, and full of flavour.
Read moreThe portions here are very generous, so definitely come hungry! We ordered the perilla noodles, a large bucket of soy chicken (and it was truly large!), and the bulgogi—all of which were fantastic. And of course, we can’t forget the complimentary banchan, which made the meal even more special.
Highly recommended!

Soban Vegan 소반 비건식당 - Edit
Venue
Read moreFour tables with four chairs crammed into a fairly small space. Easy enough to find with the clear branding on the outside. Has a TV on the back wall playing “SMTV” like several other vegan joints in South Korea.
Service
It was like being at your grandmothers. To the point that I’d say don’t visit if you just want a quick meal to fill a hole. Come with plenty of time and an empty stomach.
Food
The soy chicken was sold out (very popular on rainy days I’m told) but I’m kinda glad it was because the spicy soft tofu soup (and it’s endless side dishes) were great.
Pricing
11000 KRW which is unbelievable value.

Delicious Korean food - Edit
So much delicious food! We shared the pyogo tangsu and the bean bulgogi (japchae). Both were fantastic and flavourful. Most dishes come with rice and a series of side dishes (and there is A LOT of them). Really recommend this place

Vegan Local Dishes - Edit
Small cosy eatery serving fully vegan Korean dishes, along with a small retail corner selling vegan snacks such as candy, biscuits, and instant noodles. So happy to eat vegan versions of local food, and the items I ordered were all delicious! Friendly homely vibes, with the lady boss / chef serving us freshly cut fruits at the end of our meal too. While I was there, a bunch of Korean elderly entered the eatery without knowing it was vegan. The lady boss patiently explained to them what veganism was, and they ended up enjoying their food!! No MSG used in the cooking. Btw for the religious folk, the lady boss / chef said that all items in the menu can be made allium-free, except pyogo gangjeong fried spicy marinated shiitake mushrooms. Walking distance from Dongdaesin Metro Station, also within walking distance from Somang Stairs Monorail.

Very friendly lady who speaks English and cooks excellent food. The amount of side dishes each main comes with, the freshness of the ingredients and the cosy space - it's 200% worth the visit. I came here twice in a row and it saved my stay in Busan! 😁
