Most delicious vegan food in Busan! We had bean bulgogi, a small portion of soy chicken and a small portion of pyogo tangsu (fried shiitake mushrooms). Everything was amazing!

I ordered something I usually don't eat (fried meat replacement), so I cannot really say much about the food. Only: if you crave fried chicken, you will be very pleased with the vegan replacement here. The source which comes with it is also very good. You have to order sides if you want any because this is not a set meal as stated on the menu and as you are informed when ordering.

The lady who runs this place (and I think also lives in the building) is very casual and direct, which I really enjoyed. You feel like you are invited into someone's home, which is nice.
The atmosphere of the small restaurant is also pleasant, many small details and very authentic.
I enjoyed my visit and the walk afterwards to the democracy park nearby. Also the walk through the neighborhood was nice.

It's a small restaurant with only 4 tables. It's one subway stop away from Gamcheon village. The lady running this place is cute, nice and can speak English (at least enough).
Read moreWe ordered the soft tofu jigae (12'000won) and the bulgogi (15'000won) which both came with rice and various side dishes. We maybe hat to wait around 20min for the food to arrive. It was super hot, delicious and filling.
Free water. Toilet available.

Wir hatten vier verschiedene Gerichte und konnten uns nicht einigen, welches am besten war. Alle haben fantastisch geschmeckt. Auch wenn es etwas abseits der Hotspots liegt, die Busfahrt hat sich für uns gelohnt. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

Read moreI liked that dishes that are not listed as spicy are actually not spicy! (seems obvious, but not at all in my painful experience...).
The portion sizes are just right. Plus, she even offers refills of the side dishes which is very nice of her. Anyway, I didn't need any refill after ordering the bulgogi and small soy chicken. More than enough for one hungry traveler...
Out of the side dishes I especially loved the cold "beef" and the perilla soup.
Note that this place is also associated with loving hut somehow, since our 'beloved' Supreme Master TV was on there. Didn't bother me much.

Piccolo locale a conduzione familiare 100% vegano. Il menù cambia spesso e i piatti sono tutti koreani e locali. Unica pecca ma per me non da poco è che le porzioni sono molto piccole ( oltre che locale non molto ben tenuto). Buona qualità degli ingredienti e ottimi sides, tutti tipici koreani del sud. In foto potete vedere i sides, zuppa di tofu e pasta di soia fermentata ( non saporita come nei locali della korea più a nord come Seul) e japchae con carne oltre che i ravioli. La proprietaria è molto gentile e comprende l’inglese!

Read moreThe service is very good, we arrived and all tables where taken the owner asked two people who where sitting by themselves to sit together so that we could be accommodated which was wonderful.
The atmosphere is warm and cosy, and all the food delicious.
We ordered
-Soy Chicken (highly recommend)
-Pyogo gangjeong
-Nurungji tangsu
-Yeonip bap with soup of the day (get this as you want the soup of the day and the selection of side dishes)
Everything was so tasty highly recommend to try as much as you can 😅

I think this is one of my favourite restaurants I’ve visited in Korea so far. The soft tofu stew was totally delicious and with all the banchans the meal was perfect! It felt very local and the prices for what you get were so good for being a vegan restaurant. I want to go back so bad!!

The Best Vegan Restaurant in Busan - Edit
I've tried all of the vegan restaurants in Busan, and I can definitively proclaim that Soban vegan is the best there is. I've kept coming back here since they've opened and I have dinner here at least a few times a month. The owner is incredibly kind and friendly, like a dear grandma. She is very sensitive to dietary needs and has a deep understanding of veganism. She can adjust the meal to your liking and remove aliums upon request. All food is gluten free. Many vegans come to Korea and want to try authentic local cuisine, but unfortunately, so much of the food contains animal ingredients, especially seafood aand pork. Luckily, at Soban, you'll be able to experience authetic Korean traditional cruisine without any of the animal products. Everything is 100% vegan.
Read moreIf it's your first first time at Soban, you've got to try the soy chicken and soft tofu stew. They are probably the most popular menu items. The chicken is phenomenal from the crispy coating to the juicy tenderness. Some friend who eat meat claim it's better than the real thing. The soft tofu stew will warm your soul with it's spicy chillis and delightful ban chan (side dishes). I think it enhances the stew to add the ban chan to the broth.
My favorite items are the bamboo stew and the progo gangjeong (spicy shiitake mushrooms). I'm not a huge mushroom fan but absolutly love this dish, it's cooked to perfections and comes sprinkled with some tasty nuts for a nice crench and also has a touch of spice for a little extra kick!
After your meal, the owner will serve you with a refreshing fruit plate and a hot drink to wash down your food. You can also buy some vegan groceries and frozen goods afterwards to take with you. The restaurant is small with only 4 tables but there's usually a spot available. You also might have to wait a little bit because the food is prepared from scratch and can take a while if there are many guests. You will definitly leave feeling satisfied and will probably be back! Soban is the best in town!

Lovely spot in Busan - Edit
One of my favorite spots during my stay in Busan! We tried the spicy tofu stew and the doenjang jjigae, both were delicious! Special mention to the fake chicken, which had a really good texture and sauce. The owner was also very friendly. We’ll definitely go back if we ever travel to Busan again! 🤍
