Snow City Cafe

There's only a few vegan options here but the cafe itself is well known & cute inside

In Anchorage for a day and a half and ate here twice for breakfast. Very happy...

It's not a vegan restaurant, but the staff is very knowledgable and the vegan options are marked on the menu. I had the chili lime tofu scramble with hash browns and sourdough bread. So good I ordered it two days in a row...

They also have baked goods that appear to change daily. If they have it, grab the GF vegan pumpkin muffin. It's nut-free and tasty...

I'm surprised to see only one other review of Snow City, considering how wildly popular it is with locals and tourists alike. While the majority of the menu items contain meat, there are more than "a few vegetarian choices," and the staff is well versed in dietary restrictions. The fact that they offer vegetarian sausage and tofu as protein options makes them about as veg-friendly as it gets here in Alaska. The food is delicious, and the portions are ample. You're likely to wait a while for a table, and their prices are a little on the high side, but overall it's one of the best options in town for breakfast fare.

They have about 10 vegan selections (or things that can be made vegan easily) on the menu along with smoothies and other goodies. It's usually busy there so we always make reservations (calling or on their website). Parking is their main issue but on the weekends you can park on the streets for free (might want to double check this, and that you're in a free spot). My favorite meal there is their tofu scramble. Breakfast is available all day and vegan options are clearly marked on the menu. Their menu is on their website.
