Vegan Advocacy, vegan food - Edit

Wonderful space for compassionate organizational activities, events, actions working to end animal cruelty, suffering and exploitation. Wealth of literature available. Staffed by friendly knowledgeable committed people. Sells varied selection of vegan food items, non perishables, refrigerated and frozen, pet supplies & products, snacks, T-shirts, books. Only missing fresh produce. Cool space in mini-mall in downtown Berkeley. Garage & on street parking nearby for a fee.

Pros: 100% vegan, vegan advocacy, meeting space

Cons: mini-mall, small space

Perfect Hub for Vegan info, goodies, and people - Edit

As if it wasn't amazing enough already to have an animal rights center in Berkeley, there's an entire section devoted to bringing all the best vegan snacks in one place! I can finally have vegan s'mores, pizza, popcorn, and candy whenever I want. And the selection is just getting bigger!

One of my favorite parts is that there is a library of books that are useful for people of all types. Whether you are a new vegan, a meat eater, an activist, or a curious passerby, there is something to be gained form the information in this space.

They also have an Animal Rights Newsletter available every month as well as a space for bulletins from the community, so it is a great place to coordinate like-minded with members of the community.

Vegan Snack Heaven! - Edit

At first I thought the Berkeley Animal Rights Center, an open community center where activists work on improving the world for all species, couldn't get better. But then came... SNACKTOWN! Whether I'm planning a protest, working on a research paper, or screening a movie with friends, I have all my snack needs met. Vegan jerky, fruit, cookies, candies, protein bars, Tofurky slices, cheezes, juices, popcorn, soy milk, chocolate bars, and so much more! Love the space, love the people, love the compassion, and LOVE THE SNACKS!

Pros: Staff is volunteers who truly care about animals!, Food is delicious AF., Profits support life-saving work.

Cons: I eat TOO MANY snacks nowadays!

Anyone and everyone is welcome at the Berkeley Animal Rights Center! - Edit

The first animal rights center in the western hemisphere is home to grassroots animal rights organization, Direct Action Everywhere.

Apart from the wide variety of vegan food choices, the animal rights center also hosts various community building events such as meetups and film screenings. Never a dull moment at the ARC, greeted by warm smiles and kind words every single time you enter!

ARC is the first Animal Rights Center in the U.S. run by awesome activists.
If you visit the Bay Area or you're lucky enough to live here, ARC is the place you should not miss.
Check out their webpage for upcoming events or drop by to chat with some fellow activists or buy vegan goodies or attire.
Parking Garage in the same building. Street parking available.
