Not great for vegans and poor customer service

It wasn't clear on the menu what were the vegan options as on the menu it had a meat free section but only mentioned vegetarian and pescatarian at the top. Some of the options mentioned plant based meat but it still wasn't clear if the whole meal was vegan. I asked the staff if any of these options were vegan and she turned the page to the main section and pointed to all the options with V next to them stating they were vegan. Even though I didn't work there I could see that these were in fact vegetarian and printed this out to her. She then turned back to the page with the meat free section and said that they should be vegan. I said are you sure because it doesn't actually day vegan. She again said that they "should be". I pointed out that she is saying "should" which means uncertainty. She looked at me and then asked me if I wanted her to go ask the kitchen. Firstly, the staff member "should" know the menu and secondly, she "shouldn't" be asking me if I wanted her to go and check. She can back from the kitchen and pointed out 3 of the meals saying that these ones are not vegan but the rest "should" be. The fact that even after talking to the kitchen staff, although I wasn't prevy to that conversation, and still I wasn't assured what was vegan or not was very annoying. There is no "should" or "shouldn't". It either "is" or "isn't". I almost left but as there was nowhere else nearby, the beach house down the road was only serving pissas at this time and I was with my family, all of whom didn't fancy pissa and were very hungry, so I opted for the one option, although would not have been my first, that I was confident was vegan which was plant based chilli con carni. It wasn't great and certainly not worth the price.

Pros: The location outside is very beautiful

Cons: Poor customer service , Lack of knowledge , Mediocre food
