Possibly the best vegan cheeseburger in Melbourne - Edit
Not a fully vegan restaurant anymore (it used to be), but still kept their vegan menu items, and the vegan cheeseburger is amazing.

Beyond the impossible burgers - Edit
Staff service was friendly and brought comforting vibrations. The home made beetroot and lentil patty in the plant based cheese burger was a pinnacle touch and dare I say the highlight of that burger. The cheese looked American (not sure what I mean by that) and had a really nice melting point from the patty's heat. Disregarding the taste and quality construction of the burger, for its size, it reminded me of those plastic pocket burger lollies chewie I would get chubby on from the old Halloween nights. The greens bowl was a good finish after the burger, but was not so diverse in greens.

The cheeseburger and sweet potato fries were both delicious and we also enjoyed a gin and tonic, non-alcoholic gin and tonic and a beer. Staff were friendly and helpful and accommodating with regards to our baby. There are indoor and undercover outdoor seating options. There’s no coffee, but they said we were welcome to buy some from a nearby takeaway cafe and have it with our meal (we decided we were happy to have a lunchtime drink instead). It’s outside their control, but the one negative is meat smells from nearby restaurants as there are lots of venues in close proximity, that said, I only noticed the smells briefly and it didn’t impact the enjoyment of my meal.

This place simply serves fun wholesome plant-based food. No “vegan” signage anywhere which is great! A leader in bringing healthy plant food into mainstream, a critical step of the planetary shift forwards sustainable eating. The food is innovative, colourful and tasty. Staff are attentive and friendly. I’ll be back there pretty soon. And they have a hot chip bar!!!

After being extremely impressed with the dinner service at Marko we had to return to try the lunch menu.. and again we were overwhelmingly impressed with the food served. The burgers were amazing and the sides were flavoursome and crispy. If I could give this place a 6 out of 5 I would.

I came in on the second day of the establishment newly offering breakfast on the weekends. By observing the busy staff, kitchen and constant stream of customers entering in, I was happy to have been able to be offered a space. The coffee and food were delicious and I was very pleased by the customer service. Will come again.

Good falafel pit, but some other dowbsides - Edit
Tried for the first time, as wanted to support all place vegan etc. Just did take out. Friendly enough staff, but messed up our order. Treud the burger, which wasnt amazing. Was faux meat. More like a nut based burger. Also tried falafel pita, which was very good. The chips were so over-salted. Couldn't finish them. Might go back and try soemthi else, but it wasnt particularly memorable.

I relaly did enjoy the burgers and the sides we got, i think they were a good serving for the price. I had the gluten free bun which i dont believe cost extra and tasted nice with everything in! Would go back to try the cocktails which is a very good price!

We were excited to try everything so ordered a burger, a falafel pita and a salad to share between 2. All were OK taste-wise but were so small that we still hungry, after supposedly having an extra half a meal each! Friendly and quick service, but unfortunately I wouldn't go back.

Read moreThe new kid on the block is offering a terrific selection of burgers, pitas and bowls. With a couple of excellent beers on tap this place is a winner. The staff are lovely! And there is seating available inside and out.
We were in need of a snack so shared the Spicy Falafel and had a couple of pots beer. The green pea falafels were some of the best I've tasted and the pickled red onions and chipotle mayo gave the little pitas some punch. We received a surprise little bowl of fries which were crispy and not oily.
My only gripe is that they are located directly opposite Claypots which can smell very strongly of seafood cooking (for me, a little unpalatable ....) but hey - that's not going to stop me from going back to try the other menu items!
Pros: Uses local produce where possible , Tasty food and beers on tap, Terrific staff!

This has just opened so I was keen to check it out. I ordered the mushroom burger. I really enjoyed the coconut milk bun and the mushroom pattie was really tasty. I liked the addition of the enoki mushrooms. We also had the sweet potato fries and they were really crispy. I liked the special made sauce too. You check in and order on your phone which I always find a lot easier. I also had the not g&t (non alcoholic) which I liked.

Proud-plant based lunch place in South Melb Market - Edit
This new place on the market side of Cecil st. Advertises to be naturally plant-based. There's an easy system to check in, order and pay through your table QR code, the staff are really friendly and nice. The menu is simple, which is best when you're dining after doing your shopping, but also it's good comfort food. Will definitely go back!
