This would be 2.5 stars if half-stars existed. The service is lovely, the burgers were better than many I’ve had; but the extremely limited options (no shakes, no diet sodas - sugary sodas only; only a few burger options), complete absence of any seating (takeaway only) and awful overpriced desserts made me err on the side of 2 (rather than 3) stars.

Finally made it to slutty vegan (Harlem Location) and it was worth the wait👍🔥. I was happy not to be greeted as a slut (1st time there).🤣

What attractive me to this burger was the sweet plantains. I overlooked it was sweet JERK plaintains and it had a kick but I ate it and licked my fingers. 🤣 Not sure what's in the slutty dust seasoning that was on the fries but it was so good. I also bought the Hollywood Hooker for dinner which is the american version of a philly cheese steak. Next time, I will try the Fussy Hussy or the Project Chik less the jalapeno. 😊 Run, don't walk to a Slutty Vegan near you and enjoy their food. WE NEED A SLUTTY on 149th St & the Grand Concourse or Yankee Stadium area in the BRONX. I be back sooooon. 🤣

Maybe my expectations for this place were too high but I gotta say I was disappointed with my experience here. They forgot to include the sauce I paid extra for and the check was HIGH high. The food didn’t taste very fresh and kinda like what I would expect a better vegan Burger King to taste like. I’ll give it another shot but maybe at a different location

Vegan junk food but super fun - Edit
I've been wanting to try Slutty Vegan since it opened in Brooklyn but ended up trying the new Harlem location. I was nervous about potentially being called a slut but there was no one working the counter when I went in to pick up my order so I guess I missed out/escaped that experience! Shortly after me, two women stepped in and were announced one at a time loudly with 'a slut has entered the building' accompanied by the rapid, raucous ringing of a large bell, and they just laughed it off and seemed to enjoy the 'joke.' Unlike the other reviews here my order was ready more quickly than anticipated, about 15 minutes after we had ordered on line. Slutty Vegan really is just a vegan fast food spot, there are so many already in NYC, and as others mentioned, no seating, just take away only, but if I'm gonna eat fast food doing it supporting a Black Female Owned business in a predominantly Black neighborhood so the money hopefully stays there in that local neighborhood economy is an ideal situation.
Read moreMy vegan partner and I each got a Heaux Boy sandwich which comes with a surprisingly heaping portion of their fries for $16.99. We both really liked our sandwiches (he said he LOVED his) and we also shared a taste of the vegan fried shrimp with our omnivore friends who thought it was remarkably like real fried shrimp. The fries I agree with other reviewers are seasoned perfectly! I decided to try a side of the Blackberry Mayo for 99 cents based on a suggestion in another review because I enjoy sweet & savory together but the mayo had a slight aftertaste I did not like. We were very hungry so also had ordered a $14.99 Project Chik sandwich to split, again based on a review here saying it was the best they've ever tried, and it was good but I wouldn't say that it was the BEST for me personally, I preferred the Heaux Boy in flavor and overall as a vegan seafood experience which I think is still less available in NYC or really anywhere. I definitely think worth a try if you're craving vegan fast food and I would be curious to taste some of the other menu items in the future. Similar to another reviewer, the Hawaiian bun was my least favorite part of the meal, there's too much bread in the bread-to-fixings ratio, it kind of fell apart around the edges and flavor was a bit bland.

They were so friendly and welcoming there. I absolutely loved the joy and energy of the staff. The food was decent, a little more “fast food “ than I was expecting for the price however. I got the One Night Stand, which was their take on a bacon cheeseburger. I’d definitely recommend Slutty Vegan as a really fun experience but I have had better vegan burgers elsewhere for sure. But I think as a longtime vegan into more healthy stuff I’m not really the audience for this place anyway!
Read moreAlso they didn’t have water as an option when I was there. (No tap water as an option either, only a $5 bottle which they didn’t have.) Only sugary sodas , slushies and sweet tea. I tried the sweet tea instead which was very sweet indeed!

Ahh I was hoping to see a review of the Harlem one and here it is. Was wondering if there was seating or not but it’s just like the Fort Greene branch, no seating. Definitely not a destination if you’re trying to eat healthy!! Thanks for the review.. :)

We tried Slutty Vegan Harlem as it was a short walk from our accommodation and I'd been wanting to try it for awhile, it was on our must-try list. The experience is more than just the food! It's loud and in your face, it's like nothing I've seen before, loved it! I had a One Night Stand while my husband had a Fussy Hussy. The fries with Slut Dust were also really good. A little expensive but I would go again, and I love that it's independently owned so well worth supporting!

This place is great! Cool decoration and fun vibes. It's a fast food restaurant with no places to sit, unfortunately. However, there is a park nearby with many benches where you can sit and enjoy your meal. I ordered the Project Chik, which was their cheapest burger, and it was amazing! Everything about it was great - the chicken, the bacon, the mayo, the bread... Perfect combination of flavors and textures, I really enjoyed every bite. It came with fries, which were also delicious. A tip is to order their blueberry mayo to eat with the fries - wow! Definitely recommended.

I put off going to eat at Slutty Vegan because I didn’t think it would be much better than my favorite spot Jerrell’s …. But I was wrong. It might be the Hawaiian Bun or the special sauce but this burger was amazing! Both a little sweet and savory. And like everyone says the fries are seasoned perfectly!
