Slowbread o.g.o is a small bakery with mostly (80%) vegan breads. Their assortment is small and prices are higher than big franchises, but they produce everything by hand and on location.
Read moreSince they don't add extra yeast, the bread is completely naturally fermented and it is a bit more rustic than regular sourdough breads.
If you ask for vegan bread, they can quickly show you which items are vegan and which are not.
In general, they do not add sugar, butter, milk or egg into the dough, but there are a couple of breads that feature cheese as toppings or fillings.
Their drink menu is small: Only a few coffee drinks and milk tea, vegan options are made with oat milk.
Their breads are generally based on sourdough and many feature whole grain or rye. They remind me of European breads which have a thick crust and flavorful crumb. They produce also some modern creations, such as chocolate bread that is almost black because of all the cocoa and whole-grain sourdough with cranberries!
The location is rather small as well. Technically, there are a few seats on the window sill, but because of the pandemic, they currently offer only take-out.
