classic co-op

Pretty typical community co-op. Plenty of vegan grocery items, some deli options. A road trip stop for us. We always find something, but have been to co-ops with more vegan fresh food options.

Veggie sandwich

The veggie sandwich was excellent and a good size too- they were generous with all the fillings
There was a decent selection of vegan items in the baked goods section- we picked up a raspberry torte cookie and a banana bran muffin.

FYI Sandwich had option to toast bread, fillings were cold.

Great deli sandwich

The sandwich with baked tofu, violife cheese, and all the veggies is a winner.

great vegan options

love coming here to get food! they usually have lots of options available for both cold foods and the hot bar, along with sandwiches and desserts. all the ingredients are easy to read, and most things are already labeled vegan. highly recommend the veggie sandwich and the black forest cookie! they also have delicious chocolate cupcakes and a vegan mousse.

Amazing pit stop

I stopped here while traveling in the area for work, and it was such a gem. I picked up vegan chocolate mousse (tofu based), a samosa, a vegan black forest cookie, a house marinated tofu sandwich, roasted lentils, roasted edamame, and an apple. The food kept me well fed and happy during my 3 days in the area, and I even stopped by again on my last day in town. I really enjoy visiting co-ops while traveling for work so I can grab some vegan food/groceries and souvenirs- this did not disappoint!

Disappointed this visit

I really try to be positive but my visit was a bit disappointing. The staff was not particularly helpful but pointed out the case that had hot vegan breakfast sandwiches. There was one left and the staff member indicated that she knew that might be the case. I asked if they could make me another — no they only make a certain amount each day. It was also the smallest vegan breakfast sandwich I have ever been sold. Nobody suggested ( though I made it clear I was looking for something to eat that was vegan) a sandwich. The self ordering system for ordering a sandwich was not super easy and by the end ( 5 mins later) I finally had to track down staff to help me. While I was waiting for my sandwich I ordered drinks. I am really not sure how the staff could have been slower. I felt as though my drinks were the lowest priority. Let me also say that with almost NO ONE else waiting for a drink and sandwich I could not believe how long a wait I had.

Pros: Vegan options

Cons: Service was disinterested in serving , Miniature breakfast wrap , they don’t make enough vegan breakfast sandwiches

The most wonderful

Coming here is a little bit like walking into a wonderland. So many vegan options throughout the store. Also the sandwiches can be made to order very yummy vegan. The employees are incredibly lovely.

Selection and convenience

Stopped here on our way to Anacortes and the islands from the Seattle airport. Good decision--it was right on our way! Nice selection of vegan cheeses and staples, plus a deli with hot dinner entrees. That evening they were featuring groundnut stew, which was fantastic. Prices were a tad high, but the convenience was worth it. Charming, old-fashioned building with blooming flowers by the door and a welcoming, community feeling.

Pros: Friendly staff

Excellent for the area!

This place has all the vegan groceries you would expect at a natural food store. It’s the bakery/deli that is more limited. You will definitely find at least one hot and a couple of cold vegan entree options and maybe a baked treat.

Love it

I’ve been going here for decades and always make sure to stop by when I’m back in WA. Loads of interesting vegan options on the shelves, in bulk, and in the in-store deli. Small town, cozy feeling

Pros: Lots of specialty items, Has a deli

Good for hungry vegans!

This is a great stop to pick up grocery items or to have lunch. Lots of vegan food to choose from in their deli. Their vegan African stew is fantastic. Most times I am just passing through so I’ll grab a pre-made veggie sandwich (made with Veganaise) and a few other things. Their vegan chocolate mousse is great. Not a lot of vegan baked goods to choose from though so I head over to the chocolate aisle near the front door and get a package of 2 Cocomels Organic Sea Salt Coconut Milk Caramels. Upstairs there’s a cute gift shop and a large dining area with microwave and utensils. It’s a very cozy atmosphere. Best co-op I’ve ever been to.

Pros: Many things vegan , Great deli

Cons: The lunchtime rush

Excellent co-op with lots of vegan and vegetarian options

Skagit Valley Co-op is an excellent co-op with thousands of veg options. The food they make is fantastic, and they do a great job of labeling things that are vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free. I highly recommend the rosemary tofu when they have it. I also really like their soups as well. It's a wonderful co-op in general. Make sure you go upstairs while you are there.

Pros: Huge selection of vegan foods., Wonderful food quality., Great staff.

Best Skagit Valley grocery store

Vegan options are clearly marked in the deli, salad bar and hot station. They almost always have a vegan soup and offer a vegan deli sandwich with veganaise. If you are into desserts, try the oatmeal cream cookie sandwich made with coconut cream frosting!

Pros: Salad station and lots of vegan groceries

Cons: Busy place

Decent vegan options for Skagit County

A good stop if you find yourself in no-vegman's land half way between Seattle and B-ham. They have a salad bar usually with a vegan soup option. Deli items are marked V for vegan, such as marinated tofu spears, curry tofu, thai wrap, sesame kale, olive salad, sweet potatoes. For dessert, they always have a vegan cookie: raspberry almond, chocolate, or oatmeal sort. Also look for vegan coconut pudding. Beware of items labeled as "v w/h" if you are avoiding honey. Decent selection of vegan grocery items.

Pros: soup, cookies, salad bar, good local farm produce, good selection of CG juice

Cons: beware of vegan w honey label, many items with cheese

good food store

The selection is great.
A few points:
the local breads are non-og
lots of juices available in the back, nicely done
the deli is sketchy for vegans, nothing more than tofu but lots of meats etc
nice upstairs seating w wifi
staff is all super friendly
parking is busy

This place is ideal for staples and fresh produce, the juice bar in back. Forget the deli.

Pros: staples and produce, staff

Cons: meaty deli

My favorite place

I've going to the co-op for years and I love it! I go in and drink tea and get something to eat and relax! They just started (not too long ago) to support breast feeding in the store-that's amazing!

Pros: excellent food, friendly atmosphere, there's something for everyone

Cons: it can get noisy durring lunch rush
