Friendly and delicious

Visited for my birthday😄Had the biryani - it was flavorful and filling! Friendly service. Classy inside but still felt casual. They will ask if mild, medium, or hot for spice level. I chose medium and thought it could have been hotter. Next time might go for spicy. They had Indian music videos playing on a large screen TV which was kind of amusing to watch. Also seems to be a popular takeout spot.

Pros: Food was delicious , Reasonable price, Comfy vibe

Cons: Not as many vegan items as I hoped/expected

Good food lots of vegan and vegetarian options

Super tasty. The man who served us told us to specify no butter when ordering the breads. We ordered so much food. You can tell the naan is fresh and homemade. I had the eggplant dish. It was amazing.

Pros: Lots of choices , Helpful server

Cons: Lots of stuff has butter , Very few to no drink options.

Disappointed

Went out of my way to eat here and was let down. Upon entering first thing I couldn't help but notice is how dirty the place was. If the restaurant (and bathroom) are dirty can the kitchen be clean?

Next we just waited and waited to be seated without even being acknowledged. There was only one other table there. It was weird. Finally we're seated and waited another ten minutes with no one coming by at all. We didn't even have water, a menu or silverware. It was such a bad start to a meal I had to call it and we left.

I wanted to love this place so this was such a disappointment. In spite of all this I'd still go back and try again sometime.

Sit Down for a Great Meal at Sitar

We had a delicious meal at the Sitar of India. The staff was very friendly and there was a separate section on the menu for vegetarian items, all under $10. They also have roti bread, which is vegan. We went for dinner when the buffet was closed, so I can’t comment on that. My partner and I shared the Baingan Bhartha (eggplant) with rice and roti and it was delicious and filling.
Many of the vegetarian options have milk and/or cheese and therefore are not vegan. Even though the vegetarian menu is sizable the vegan options are limited.
There is a parking lot for Sitar directly across the the restaurant. It is really hard to see in the dark, but it’s there.
I would recommend eating here if you like Indian food.

Pros: lots of veg options, friendly staff, delicious food

Cons: many options have milk & cheese and are not vegan, limited vegan options

Unaware but friendly

I was super excited to eat here. The man who served was a talker and I felt more than welcome (I’m usually too shy) to ask questions and get my order right. I asked what was vegan on the menu and he said “meaning...” so I explained to him no milk/butter or eggs, etc. He then told me Aloo Gobhi and Chana Masala were because he knew I was talking about them, but as soon as I got mine I could taste something unpleasantly creamy. I asked if it had milk in it and he said no, so then I was like hmm... and asked if it had cream in which it did. I said ok I can’t eat dairy or I will get sick and he fixed it for me with a big smile, but be sure that you clearly specify that you want no cream!!!

Pros: Not too busy, Friendly service, More than willing to fix mistakes

many delicious options!

There were many vegan options on the lunch buffet. Staff was very helpful in explaining ingredients and possible allergens in the food. The buffet was clean and very busy, and food was readily replenished.

Delicious Indian food, lots of vegetarian choices!

Very reasonably priced. Many options for vegetarians/vegans. Very flavorful. My daughter and I had the roasted eggplant dish, the chana masala (medium was very spicy in our opinion!), with a side of rice. Poori bread was a little oily. Service ok.

Pros: Lots of vegetarian choices, Flavorful, Nutritious

Cons: Staff tried to rush us out, Not sure about ingredient sourcing
