F***ing excellent

I love this place! Singaporean noodles are amazing. I really love most of all the cocktails they make using Aquafaba - whiskey sour is Devine.

So good

I loved the Okonomiyaki! A chatty atmosphere with loud music, which isn’t my thing but might be yours. The food is excellent.

Pros: Great food, Friendly staff

Cons: Loud

Flawless

Food, staff and atmosphere are all gorgeous and lovely. We had a number of the dishes to share and everything was superb! The rainbow tempeh burger and XO noodles would have to be the favourites but everything was divine!!

Pros: Lovely staff, Beautiful food, Wonderful atmosphere

Just okay. Overpriced and not the best atmosphere

I've eaten at the one in St Kilda and wasn't entirely blown away. Thought would give it another chance, in Richmond. The service is fairly average. The waitress failed to quiet down a woman who was talking on her phone, with loud speaker, to some other person, for like 30 mins. Didnt make for an enjoyable dining experience. I found the food expensive. I didnt like the fact that the curry was $21 and then have option to add rice or curry for another $4. Seems like this should be included. Food came out really quick and some of it was pretty average. The polenta was a but average and hardly came with any sauce. The massaman curry was decent. Not much tempeh. I would say the restraunt is overpriced for vegan food. Also the atmosphere inside the restraunt, isnt that great. Doubt I will return.

Cons: Overpriced.

Very happy!

I didn't get to see a lot of inside the restaurant, given the COVID restrictions. The staff member was super nice and very helpful with pointing out g/f options. He was patient with me as I took ages to decide!
I ended up going with the roast beetroot salad (forget exactly what it was called) with quinoa. Omg it was absolutely to drool over 🤤

Pros: Delicious, So many choices for vegans, Gf and nut free available

Cons: Pricey, Not much parking near the restaurant (St Kilda)

Nice place but disappointing food

Felt pretty let down by the 7 layer lasagna - so many layers that it was 90% pasta with mm thin layers of filling, so it didn't taste of much. The falafel bowl was quite nice, though more of a lunch item. Both the starter and dessert sections of the menu are very limited, so it feels they are lacking the extent of choice that you get at the St Kilda branch. Value of mains is OK (decent portion sizes), ambience and service are both good.

Pros: Ambience, Service, Portion sizes

Cons: Execution of food, Choice of starters and desserts, Alleyway toilet!

Calm atmosphere

Had a creamy vegan lasagna that could have tasted slightly more. Still good though! Calm and relaxed atmosphere.

Pros: 100% vegan

Cons: Close the windows when it's windy outside

Burgers were soo good!

We dined here on a recent trip to Melbourne, as it was suggested by friends and they didn’t disappoint.
The coffees were great, the burgers were banging and the old style chips were delicious.
We’ll definitely be back.

Pros: Lots of vegan options., Great coffee., Delicious food.

Terrible service!!

I had 'dinner' here for the first time tonight. I was sitting by myself, so I made sure I let the waitress know about the dessert I wanted to order when I gave her the order for my main. Her response was "Let me know when you'd like to order your dessert later". The main course came out in reasonable time and was quite nice, but was a small portion size. After finishing my meal I then sat there rubber necking...by myself...for 15 minutes with the restaurant half empty trying to get the waitresses attention. I watched as the waitress was not stressed at all, and even had time to have a social chat and laugh with a friend sitting at one of the tables, while I sat at my table with an empty plate and my knife and fork placed side by side in the centre of the plate (common etiquette to let the staff know you've finished your meal). But my frequent rubber knecking over a quarter of an hour while that waitressed saundered around the restaurant chatting to her friends, and proper etiquettte had no apparent effect. Finally when she bothered to come over and clear my plate and ask if I wanted my dessert, I told her how long i'd been waiting, the fact that I had to be at a fitness class at 8.00am in the morning and that I was out of time and had to go home. All she could muster was a disinterested "sorry" in response. I left hungry and will not be returning to this restaurant. When I got home I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the Manager. I got the same waitress on the phone who said "Ummm there is no Manager here tonight". That explains a lot...........

Fabulous vegan meals

We all enjoyed our vegan meals at this restaurant and it was abig group of people! My lasagna was delicious as were the chips and the desserts that we shared (sticky date pudding and chocolate tart) were scrumptious! Staff were friendly and helpful. I’d love to work through more of the menu. It’s conveniently located near the train station too...

Enjoyable

Place was crammed and busy when we came but didn't stop our food coming out pretty fast. My brother isn't vegetarian and got the gnocchi and said it was great. Tofu burger and quinoa salad for us. It was quite expensive and didn't really leave me full. Don't know if I'd come again but it's worth trying at least once.

Pros: Vegan menu, Cool atmosphere , Fast service

Cons: Not good value

Not as great as I thought it was

I gave this place a glowing review the first time I went, but, since going back a couple of times and finding it decidedly disappointing, I’m wondering what I thought was so amazing. I had the tofu burger a while ago, already expensive at $19.50, and it was extraordinarily dry. I decided to overlook this as an anomaly, but after a couple of further mediocre experiences, I’ve had to update my review. Most recently I shared a meal here with a friend. The not particularly massive Thai curry we ordered was $19 before adding rice and/or roti at $4 a pop, and it was just OK flavour-wise. The tempeh - the only ingredient giving the dish any substance - was dry and unappetising. The Singapore noodles ($18.50) were fine, but again nothing special. I had been looking forward to the salt and pepper tofu, but we were presented with four small cubes of tofu with a fancy-pants garnish to try and convince us it was worth $11.50. This place used to be a special post-movie treat for me, but it no longer feels like one.

3.5 stars

There's a lot right with this eatery; flavours are generally very good, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The downside is, the prices are are on the higher side and the serving sizes (at least for what we ordered) are just not representative of good value. The tofu burger at around $20, came with around ten chips and wasn't particularly filling. The burger bun was kind of dry and unappealing. The actual taste of the fillings were very good, however.

If I did return, I'd have to try one of the bowls or curries instead.

You can't have it both ways

...although apparently you can

We had the tofu burger ($20.50) which was pretty good, it would have definitely benefited from some more lettuce and the inclusion of cucumber, but was of reasonable size, the tofu itself was surprisingly well prepared and selected (semi-firm?), the sauce also worked very well. The bun while not bad, hinted of not being particularly fresh, or just not great by design.

The single bao ($8.50) was well done and of unexpected flavour.

Chips ($8.50) only slightly under-cooked, well seasoned, easily better than most places.

The falafel dish ($11.50) was quite well flavoured and the falafel were perfectly cooked (which I was starting to assume was impossible, as everywhere else they are clearly over, or under). The dish description though "Housemade chickpea falafel accompanied with pickled beetroot, roast beetroot hummus and black Aleppo garnish" is very deceiving. Along with the 3 standard sized falafel, we received 3 pieces of roughly pea sized beetroot, a teeny tiny lettuce leaf, and a tablespoon of hummus.

The Watermelon crush "cold pressed/fresh made daily" juice was presented in a bottle with a straw attached via an elastic band. The juice was very nice, the bottle was roughly 250ml... for $7.50
easily the smallest juice I have ever seen served in a cafe, I would have expected it to be twice that size. My first impression was 'you have got to be f*cking kidding', the only reason someone would ever choose a bottle that size would be to smuggle illegal substances up their [censored], because you would not even notice it was there.

The service was very good, attentive and friendly without being over-bearing and everything came out in good time.

Overall everything is roughly 20% overpriced = 1 point lost.
The juice smuggle bottle = another point lost.
They let themselves down by being stingy, otherwise this could have easily been a 5 star rating.

Pros: Vegan, Heaps better than their St Kilda venue, in every way besides similar poor value

Cons: $$$, Juice comes in a smuggle bottle

Cons: Can be hard to get a table, Parking is annoying

Recommended for mains

Took 3 meat eaters here and was well received. Had polenta chips, edamame, jackfruit burger, Mediterranean bowl, and I had Nasi Goreng which was delicious. Chocolate tort was delicious but cheesecake not great. Some strange drinks such as mushroom hot milk which needed lots of sugar to make taste edible.

Pros: Great starters and mains, Nice atmosphere , Good staff

Cons: Drinks, Toilets

Delicious

It is the first week that it was open for lunch. Smoothies and juices weren’t available, but all the food seemed to be available. It’s a lovely bright place and has a number of seats available. Service was friendly and helpful. I ordered a burrito bowl and it was very tasty and filling. It’s great that it is all vegan too. I’d like to go back and try their juices and smoothies.
