Serves meat, vegan options available. Restaurant on a volcanically active beach. Offers food baked in the hot volcanic sands. Vegan options include baked eggplant, baked vegetables, salads and more.
There are almost no options here. We rented a shelter which is very worth it (expensive though). Had the eggplant which was surprisingly well cooked. There is also a fresh fruit platter that is not listed on the menu that is a refreshing treat.
Was met by a very friendly staff.
I had the eggplant, and it was very nice — nothing extraordinary. I had bread and olives with, as it was a small portion. And a fresh orange juice and some water. In total 21.40 euros. I thought it was quite expensive, as you can get similar size portions in other places for less.
HappyCow led me there. “Food baked in the hot volcanic sands”, I was curious to try it !
The restaurant overlooks the sea, in a organic modern aestetic (I did not saw the famous oven, I did not asked to). The chef was great with spices ✨. The staff was amazing, they offer to chose between 3 different olive oils ✨. When precising I was vegan, our waiter immediatly proposed to veganize 2 of their speciality dishes cooked in the volcanic oven which is immered in sand (non of those proposed on the menu were vegan). He also indicated that their houmous wasn’t vegan (butter), and led us to veganised treat rather than the vegan options they already had.
Overall it was a great experience, and the calm sea shore was the cherry on the cake 😎
