Good value and good location

We were looking for a quick breakfast before our ETS train and this shop did it for us. Wide variety of dishes, drinks in a clean coffee shop style eatery. They also make curry noodles, wa tan hot and wantan mee aside from the rice and dishes selections.

Nella media

Buono, ma mi ha stupito pagare 14rm per un piatto. Di solito costano molto meno questi posti. Tutto sommato ampia scelta e varietà. Consigliato

A tendency to rip tourists off

I ate there for lunch a few days ago and was ridiculously ripped off. They overcharged me by about 50% of the real value of my rice and veggies from the buffet. I have been coming back to Malaysia for 15 years, each time for long stays. I certainly know the price of things, especially food. I did not protest or made a fuss because it was an 80-year old grandpa who quoted the price, and I did not want him to lose face in front of patrons and coworkers, yet I certainly felt insulted and disrespected! I spoke to another foreigner at my hostel and he experienced the exact same problem. It seems to be the policy of the house. Be careful if you eat there, tell them that former clients are complaining about this online, or better yet: boycott them and eat elsewhere! Thankfully the food was ok, and the choice was impressive. But it wasn't worth what they charged me! Avoid their iced tea at all cost: it's yellowish water (tea is super weak) with a ton of sugar - Awful!

Pros: Lots of options, Cheap...in theory!

Cons: Overcharge tourists, Drinks are terrible

Too oily, heavy on stomach

It mocks meat and fish to the point you think it's a real thing. A bit too icky for my taste. Too oily. Cheap.

So oily but...Cheap

You get what you pay😄One plate only costs RM 6.5. Yes food is incredibly cheap but not healthy at all. It's reaaaally oily. Ok for once when you have a cheap budget but won't come back again.

Pros: cheap

Cons: so oily

Very oily but also cheap

There is a huge variety on foods from which you can choose from. You take a plate and depending on how much you choose you’ll pay more or less, but it’s definitely always very cheap. The food itself tho is very, very oily. And I mean everything in the buffet, even the veggies. The taste is ok, but I definitely had better food before.

Pros: Very cheap, Lots of choices , Opens very early

Cons: Very oily

Extremely oily.

Lots of options however the variety of vegetables itself is limited - and the vegetables are drenched in oil. This is the second time visiting this place after a year, hoping it might be different but it's the same. Good only for people who love mock meat and soy products and not for people who are looking for a healthy daily dose of greens. If you're travelling and want One place to eat good vegetarian food, this is not the place.

Cons: Very very very oily.

Central and cheap

Lots of options here and was good that you could choose.

We arrived at about 8:45am and the food was somewhere between room temp - cold. We prefer this style of food hot.

The staff/owner was very friendly and helpful.

Meals were cheap.

We found them to be overly oily - but that is not unusual in our experience in Malaysia.

Pros: Lovely staff/owner - very friendly , Cheap , Accessible within town centre

Cons: Food is room temp - cold if not there early , Very oily

Good variety but very oily and over cooked

A nice place with lovely staff. Having been to a fair few of these vegan Chinese buffet places around SE Asia, this place was nothing amazing. All dishes seemed diffusely very oily, and I felt some vegetables and fake meats were over cooked. Flavours generally ok.

Huge variety

Great place! So much choice. There is a lot of mock meat, but I found there was a good amount of vegetable dishes on offer too, such as okra, aubergine, broccoli and bok choy to just name a few. Lovely staff and very cheap.

Cheap and tasty

An assortment of different vegetarian options laid out in a buffet style - all you can eat. My favourite was a lemon grass tofu curry dish (not too sure of the actual name).

Pros: Cheap, Tasty, Good selection

Cons: No labelling of the dishes, Staff weren’t overly friendly (but nice enough)

Would recommend a try

Great selection of mock meat, I'm not sure I was blown away by it but I would recommend people to go and try. Some of the options however were very tasty.

Prices I felt were cheap and the staff were attentive.

However if you don't like mock meat I would not recommend this to you

Pros: Lots of options of mock meat, Cheap

Cons: Food was not warm

Classic setting & all vegetarian

Terrific variety in the buffet. Loads of vegetables. Classic setting. Corner location, marble-topped tables, tile floor. Highly recommended.

Cheap but not cheerful

Very cheap vegan food. Chinese style with lots of mock meat which actually tasted quite artificial. Worst of all the dishes from the buffet were cold. Wouldn’t go there again.

Cheap cheap cheap!

The food isn’t the greatest in the world but it’s quick and ridiculously cheap! It’s nice to be at a fully veggie buffet, especially in Asia! The staff were friendly, the place is basic but clean. Two of us had a full plate plus a can of coke each and it came to like £3! Which is the cheapest meal we have had during 6 months in SEA!

can’t give five stars

I know what you’re thinking, it’s very rare that you don’t give a true vegan restaurant five stars. It’s quick and easy and dirt cheap. They have lots and lots of mock meets substitutes. They must have 30 unique items on the buffet.. The thing is, none of them are great. The big plus here is that the three of us ate two plates each plus drinks and the entire bill is US$10. They charge you by plate. They are very attentive but the old lady has a scowl on her face. This place has that street food charm. It’s certainly not horrible and it’s obvious they are a hard working family.

Phenomenal

I'm only reviewing this place to bring up its review score and respond to the previous review; if you don't want food that's been sitting out (which is super normal in SE Asia), they have a menu from which you can order freshly cooked stuff. And again, as far as SE Asia goes, it's fairly clean. If you want a hyper-sterile vegan buffet, you ought to be in another city!

Pros: Huge variety, dirt cheap, delicious

Cons: Closes early

Cheap & Cheerful

We had lunch here. There was a large selection of dishes with both veg only and mock meats and the staff were very friendly. But it was one of those places where the food was a little bit cold and the place was a little bit grimy.

All in all it was ok. Good if you are wanting to grab a quick meal without having to agonise over the menu.

I was atrracted here based on the happycow classifucation of being all vegan. My Cantonese speaking co diner asked the staff some questions. The staff replied that they dont add milk, egg nor honey products to the food. It was interesting to note the web url on the wall is the url for the woman behind the loving hut chain.

The choice of food is extensive. Its inexpensively priced and tasty. Two of us had a big plate each. Total cost for two was 17 rym. We came back later for take away to eat on the train.

Pros: seems to be all vegan, inexpensive and tasty

Cheap and lots of variety

This one was quite difficult to find, the gps kept sending us the wrong way until we had all but given up, only to find the place by accident after getting stuck in a traffic jam.. the ladies were nice and helpful and the food tasted nice even though the mock meats we tried and most of the sweeter, non-spicy food had an overpowering cinnamon taste.. but there is a lot of variety and it's quite cheap so it's well worth giving a try if you happen to be passing by.
Side note: if you can, try to avoid parking at the garage down the street during peak hours as the smell from the fishmarket above is as bad as it gets.

Pros: lots of options, cheap, helpful ladies

Cons: difficult to find, bad traffic during lunch hours,

Lots of options

This place has more options than most 'economy rice' places have. Food tasted nice and some of it was kept hot!

The details given in the previous review helped us out - thank you! The name has changed and location on the map is wrong as the person pointed out.

Staff are pretty miserable - they bark the price at you and that's about it!

Pros: Very good selection, Cheap

Cons: Miserable staff

Name probably changed

It took me a while to find it as the map points to a wrong direction. I have marked the right location in the picture I added. It is not in a coffee shop anymore, but the whole place is a restaurant now. As on my picture with the entrance, the name seems to have changed. They serve buffet style and quote a price when they see what you have chosen. I paid 5 RM for a fully loaded plate. Drinks extra of course.

Open from 7am to 5pm.

Pros: Very tasty, great variety, best value for money

Cons: If you don't mind a basic setup, none
