Glad we found it - Edit
We went on a Sunday for some vegan goodness. I had the vegan breakfast and my wife the falafel flatbread. Really enjoyed it. Very friendly and attentive service, delicious piece of vegan cake and they really looked after our wee girl bringing over crayons etc. Decent amount of vegan options for the Borders and reasonably priced. They also sell gifts and paintings in there and it’s a lovely atmosphere. Will be back.

Lovely food and service - Edit
A few options to choose from, I had a lovely toasted baguette with vegan cheese and Mediterranean vegetables. Also had a choice of 2 cakes I had the strawberry and banana muffin which was really good. The service was brilliant, even although they were really busy at it was one of the hottest days of the year.

Absolutely average - Edit
We called in for lunch well aware it was a regular place, not a veg/vegan only eatery.
Read moreAfter being shown to a table a lady returned in a few minutes and asked if we wished menus. Perhaps I looked like a mind reader or clairvoyant…
We ordered 2x toasted sandwiches with roast veg and mushrooms, 2 ginger beers.
The food took 45 minutes to arrive, no advice that it would take that time, the place was not busy.
Cutlery was put down as if it was such a chore. Cutlery in 2 paper napkins. Not placed out per person.
Has she ever actually been a customer in a restaurant or cafe?
Further disappointment was the toast was normal supermarket square white bread.
The mushrooms and veg. were fine but it could have been so much better with ‘proper’ bread from a local baker. Was the sauce in the sandwich vegan? Hmm…
Salad was the usual boring iceberg plus tomato etc.
No one asked if our food was ok, no one asked if we wished anything else, coffee or tea.
I waited to pay once it was obvious no one was coming to the table.
Again, a long wait. Same server asked if we wished to sit outside or inside. Completely oblivious that she’d served us.
Completely devoid of personality or ability.
The owners of the place can’t be very switched on if they can’t see the staff are so poor. Perhaps it was her first job, but either they’d not done any staff training or she just loathed the job, or vegans.
Just don’t go with expectations of anything you couldn’t do yourself in a quarter of the time at home, but better…
Pros: Some veg and vegan options.
Cons: Long wait for ‘fast’ food., Inexperienced inattentive staff
