Ooh my - Edit
Came here after hiking nearby and omg what a gem this place is not just with the delicious food but super great staff! The mozz sticks are more like breaded tofu which was great! And omg the French toast! I don't even like French toast but not only is this tasty, it's healthy and is made with seeded bread! Can't wait to return!

Not much green at simply green - Edit
Place could use a good cleaning; most food is fried, bland or covered in some cheap sauce or gravy. I would never eat here again.

So delish - Edit
They have a really wide range of options and they're all vegan so it's easy to find something you'd like. I've gotten a couple different things and they gave yet to disappoint. I haven't tried their breakfast yet but I definitely hope to soon. The service is also lovely and welcoming.

Soooo Good! - Edit
I was really happy with this recommendation from a fellow Happy Cow user (and new friend)!! There were so many yummy options, but I couldn’t resist breakfast food - I mean vegan pancakes & hash browns - 🤤!!!

Very good - Edit
-eggplant parmagiana - 9/10 great
Read more-eggplant poboy - 9.5/10 excellent
-potato skins - 9/10 great
-raspberry cream cheese filled French toast- pretty good
The donuts were of the cake style, the classic was very good, but the mint chocolate chip was so dry and not at all good.
All vegan place though, would definitely return to try more!

Large menu, good portions, yummy food - Edit
First time visiting, very large menu selection, was hard to choose. We had dinner, got the buffalo chicken pizza, the kale salad with crispy tofu added, the mozzarella sticks, the onion rings, the buffalo chicken wrap, and the meatball hero sandwich. All was very tasty and good portion sizes! We were absolutely stuffed but in hindsight ordered way too much food lol. Had two non-vegans with us and they really liked it. I regret not trying the eggplant parmesan or eggplant po'boy, it was recommended by the server. Hopefully next time! The only reason we didn't give a full five stars was because we had tried a lot of other vegan restaurants in New York City and they were superb and outstanding, so in comparison this place was very good, but we were blown away by other places more. Also, request no straws with your drink.

Mediocre Breakfast - Edit
The breakfast was fairly disappointing. The French toast had an artificial sweetness, and the burrito was mostly rice and some potatoes. Generally, the decor is dated and the restaurant lacks any atmosphere. This was a hard review to write as I appreciate all vegan restaurants but I do feel a bit of a refresh on the food and the space would help.

Great breakfast! - Edit
The food at this vegan place was super! We had breakfast and everything was delicious. The atmosphere was a bit outdated and could use a cool rebrand to up the vibe, because the food was so good! I really enjoyed having vegan breakfast options, as they’re hard to come by! The menu also had lunch, sandwiches, smoothies, etc. Definitely worth checking out!

Some very good options. - Edit
I enjoyed quite few things. Breakfast was delicious. Deep fried items bit greasy. Love potato pancakes. Philly sub was disappointing. I expected some Seitan but it was all greasy mushroom and peppers. Lemonade and other drinks are really good but bit pricy.
Read moreI recently went back to this place. Many new items. Love anything eggplant. If you go Friday you get fresh desserts from vegan treats.
Sadly they stopped serving strawberry lemonade which was my favorite.
New item on the menu is soft serve ice cream. I’m not too crazy about that.
Will definitely be going back to try other items.

The reason to stop in Mahwah is the amazing food of Simply Green Cafe - Edit
Happy Cow for the win again! Driving south from Maine to Georgia we stopped in Mahwah for the night and checked HC for a great vegan option and saw the glowing reviews for Simply Green Cafe so we went for dinner. The place is very friendly and welcoming and feels like a local favorite. The cafe serves breakfast (vegan pancakes!), lunch, and dinner. We went for dinner and breakfast. The menu is huge for all meals they serve, and everything was really tasty and fresh. No alcohol license, but I think it’s byob.
