I ordered the coconut lemongrass soup and it came wrong the first time and then the second time it came it was still wrong sadly, just a regular noodle soup. I just took it but it wasn't that flavoursome😡Great selection though, and the matcha was pretty good.

Loved the food here came twice during our vacation! Only reason I rated 4 was because I had originally ordered something from their menu that was described as yakisoba noodles with pineapple and veggies which I was super excited for. What I ended up getting was plain veggies (broccoli, carrots, onions) and a side of rice. It was still delicious due to the sauce but when I clarified this wasn’t what I ordered they said that it was…I’m not sure if their menu needs updating or what happened. I didn’t make a stink about it because I feel bad doing that so I just ate what they brought but I’m forever thinking about the yakisoba with veggies and pineapple lol. Also both times they were out of ice cream…again not sure if they’re actually out or just don’t offer it anymore but still on their menu.

This place has an extensive vegan menu so many things to choose from. Very friendly staff super sweet they’re open till 10 PM which is nice for late bite. Definitely got to check them out while in Honolulu

One of those menus that makes it super hard to decide what to get. So many choices! I ended up getting the tropical fried rice, the portion size was large and the food was tasty!

Simple Joy is amazing! They have such an extensive menu - I want to try everything! We ordered the spring rolls for an app, I got the beef and broccoli, my boyfriend got the grilled chicken, and it was all truly delicious!!! So so so good. And great service too. The TV was showing moral reasons to go vegan when we were in there.

I enjoyed my experience here. We ordered the banana flower salad, it had a light dressing and minty flavor for a perfect refreshing starter. Plus what a novel ingredient—have you ever had banana flower before? And the “boca moco” was fun. The vegan eggs were rockin as was the gravy. As much as I like the Beyond Burger, I didn’t think it worked so well in this dish. I think I liked the vegan loco moco at Peace Cafe better, but this was great. Def would go back.

Based on the pics here I went in knowing I’d try the kabob plate, seaweed tofu soup and joy noodle soup. The soup came with a generous amount of sprouts and basil on the side. Pitcher of water had mint leaves, thanks. All was presented nicely and tasted great. Waiter smiled when I confessed to being a glutton.

My wife and I went off the beaten path to try Simple Joy and were not disappointed. The service was great and the food was even better! We enjoyed the crispy spring rolls and potstickers to start and could have eaten those all night. My wife immensely enjoyed her first ever bowl of wanton soup and I enjoyed a delicious chicken pasta dish. Fantastic!

Was first a little nervous about the amount of options then decided to order the clay veg pot with rice and soup, pad Thai, spring rolls and the tapioca.
Read moreWe ate almost every last bite. The squash in the hotpot was my very favorite part. It was all cooked perfectly and had so many amazing full flavors that were all complimentary.

This restaurant is vegan and very close to a local hostel I like to stay at in Honolulu. The waitstaff has always showed a nice kindness when I’ve eaten there.
