Dog and cat shelter on Sao Vicente island. Runs a hostel and offers vegan breakfast staying guests. If you decide to volunteer for the project a vegan lunch and dinner is also provided. The organisation offers guided tours of the island as well day trip to Santo Antão. Open Mon-Sun 7:00am-12:00am.

No breakfast / not vegan - Edit
Came here because of the vegan breakfast but nothing like that, staff frowned upon my question about vegan food. Honestly the place is overpriced, the beds were squeaky, too firm mattresses (painful to sleep on), no toiletpaper after day 1, and after mentioning staff did not take care of it, but most of all the living room was not cosy or welcoming. People (staff) hardly said hello when we entered. It felt like an office or something. Even though I like the idea of helping the animals they really have to step up their game and put a little more effort and love into this place.

Delicious Vegan Breakfast - Edit
We didnt stay at the Hostel but we got in contact per Email to ask If we could have Breakfast. We only had to state Date and time when we would come and everything went smooth. We got some bread with Papaya jam, oats and soy milk, Coffee or Tea, and a smoothie and some papaya fruit. Its good to have their number saved to call when youre at the door because it is not always open since they also have animals living there.

The perfect place! - Edit
The Simabo B&B is simply amazing. The building is located close to the beach and the city center. It's also close to the port where you can take the boat to Santo Antão. They offer a delicious vegan breakfast on request. This wonderful organisation has been helping the stray dogs and cats of São Vicente for over 10 years and they have castrated thousands of stray animals on the island. They also run a clinic where they can treat sick and injured animals. You can visit the dog or cat shelter and help them walk the dogs, make toys for the cats, ... They also run a project for volunteers. If you want to support this lovely organisation, come stay here!
