Persian food with a smile

Now that Shahrzad has given up on its original concept (instead giving place to Veganska Ölbaren and a not very vegan-friendly wine bar), Little Persia is no more, and Tehran Grill is committed to a cash-refusing policy, Sima Deli is the one and only place that I can think of where I can enjoy Persian food. And enjoyable it is, indeed.

Whether it's fresh herbs, pomegranate or dried limes, the food has a special touch to it that makes it quite unique. Furthermore, staff are genuinely welcoming and service-minded, not just going through the motions. These are factors that make me return to Sima, on a yearly basis anyway.

On the minus side, it is apparent that the meal, or at least part of it, is microwaved. And while it's wonderful that they have a vegan dessert (rice pudding with saffron, cinnamon and grated almonds), why in the world must it be served in a plastic container, even if it's not to go? My last objection is that omnivores have a choice of dishes for lunch, but if you happen to want the lentil stew (I was already familiar with the bean one, the only one available), then it'll cost you extra, as it'll be from the à la carte menu. In spite of these remarks, Sima is a place where one can enjoy good food made with care, and in view of the lack of competition they'll remain on the Persian throne of Stockholm for the foreseeable future.

Vegan Iranian Soulfood

A cozy and welcoming kitchen. They have many vegan & vegetarian delicacies including Ghormesabzi(mixed aromatic herbs stew), Gheymeh(split pea tomato stew), Ash (herbs & beans noodle soup, for ask without fermented dairy topping), Kashkbademjam (vegetarian mashed roasted eggplants topped with fried onions, mint, and fermented dairy), Kuku sabzi (Vegetarian aromatic herb pancake), Sholehzard(saffron and rosewater rice pudding)

Pros: Chill vibes, Vegan options, Good food

Had a nice lunch, full of flavour

Note that lunch is served from 11:00 am. But they open earlier, as a deli and breakfast place.

They seem to always have a vegan option as a choice of lunch, with a lower price than the meatbased alternatives, as it should be. I had a nice chana lentil stew, served with rice and a side salad. Nice flavours and textures. Finely balanced. All is well in the realm.
