Delicious pancakes and great service - Edit
My husband and I went there for breakfast. We both had the oat milk blueberry pancakes. They were delicious and so filling. We could have shared a portion. The service was really good too, very attentive. We would return.

Several vegan options - Edit
I had the Warm Roasted Local Veggie entree salad and it was delicious and filling. (See pic). I can't speak for the other vegan options, but this one was very good.

Cons: Several vegetarian options should be vegan, Hummus starter isn't vegan b/c of the bread , Avocado toasts don't come vegan, which is crazy

Vegan new American food - Edit
This part of DC needs more vegan options- I’m not usually here. However, if I’m here in Cathedral Heights this is a good choice. The menu is clearly marked for veg food, distinguishing between vegan and vegetarian. There’s also a gluten free icon. For a non-veg restaurant, this is usually as good as it gets for menu markings!
Read moreSurprisingly, they have that lemon vegan tartlet, and there are many vegetarian choices as well, spread throughout the menu. For items you don’t have to alter, there are five solid choices including an entree salad, the cauliflower steak, oven roasted tomatoes, and a rice bowl. They also have the Beyond Meat burger and other entrees that seem to be veganizable if you ask nicely. Avocado toast should be vegan quite easily, and maybe a couple starters!
The prices are reasonable for this part of town. The portions are good. The ambiance is upscale diner, but still that diner feel. It’s good, not amazing, but will satiate your appetite and meet your dietary choices.
Pros: Vegan marking on menu, Vegan entrees, Portions
Cons: Not all vegan

Vegans Check Out Silver - Edit
Went to Silver last night with three vegan friends to celebrate the aging of one of them, and we all loved it. I got the cauliflower steak. It comes with (getting this from menu) "red curry kale, garbanzos, roasted butternut squash, quinoa, fire roasted pepper sauce, peanuts." Wow, it was excellent. I'm not usually a very fancy/sophisticated eater, and I wasn't sure I would even like this entree, but there was no ingredient I would add, subtract, or change the proportion of. It was perfect. For dessert, I got the lemon tartlet, which is described as "vegan lemon creme, blackberries, thyme" in a crust that was maybe made with powdered sugar, and everything about it was excellent -- excellent crust baked/browned just the right amount, fantastic lemon cream filling, and even the blackberries were really good blackberries -- tangy with a lot of flavor. I'm not quite gourmet enough to appreciate the thyme garnish on top, but I just ate it first, and it's not as if it had flavored the rest of the tartlet or anything. Yum. The service was also flawless--polite, timely with everything, refilling water without being asked, letting us sit and talk for 3 hours. Thank you Silver!
