HORRIBLE!

Worst help ever, graduation of my little brother and his best friend. They gave us a small table we barely fit in, and took forever to attend us!

Some of the best vegan options in the DMV

The best vegan tacos I've ever had (anywhere!) and amazing oat milk protein pancakes. They give the option to change their egg meals to Just Egg, too.

Pros: Variety of vegan options, Delicious food

Cons: Expensive

Cute and convenient

Had cute specialty drinks and a section of the menu specifically for plant based meals. Had both more processed and more veggie based options. They had a vegan chia pudding dessert as well, but were out when I went

We💗Chef Ype

Chef Ype's transition to a more flexitarian style menu is definitely appreciated. There are lots of vegan options including a seasonal menu and some vegan milkshakes. Fun atmosphere and the food is always plated nicely. A good place to go with non-vegan friends or family. My favorite vegan dish is the tofu skewers with lentils.

Pros: Lots of options, Fun atmosphere, Good place to dine with non-vegans

Cons: Price

Fresh food

Only been here once but great service. Solid food , cheap bill. I sat at the bar,I ordered a mule, and a pasta stir fry . It had a lot of sesame but it was great full of flavor

Pros: Fresh food, Cheap bill, Vegan section on the menu “plant based”

This place not only has great food and a pleasant atmosphere but the fact that the food comes straight from local farmers makes this a top notch eatery!

Surprisingly good choices

It’s a busy shopping center that’s a bit much to get around, but worth it. Staff was relatively friendly and place was clean. The amount of vegan choices they had surprised me based on what I read in previous reviews.

I had also been to another Silver Diner in the Columbia area for brunch one time and was not impressed. I went to a late lunch with my grandma yesterday (who is not vegan) and we had an amazing time at the Rockville location.

The tofu skewers were fantastic, just the right amount of coconut. The dipping curry sauce was a bit to much, but a nice touch for those we like intense flavour. The pineapple stir fry was a bit oily, but I kind of enjoy that so fine with me. I enjoyed and ate the entire plate. I was sad I did not get to try the hibiscus mango soy shake. It was calling to me, but I was so full. The mini juke box at each table is also a fun addition to a meal with a variety of family friendly music. I guess I’ll have to go back another time.

Pros: A surprising amount of options, Jukeboxes , Good value

Cons: Crowded parking (but lots of it)

Attentive cooks needed

The food is often not prepared as described on the menu, either over fried, sloppy, or the order is just incorrect.

Pros: Means well, Good menu , Works with door dash

Cons: Cooks with no attention to detail, Food not prepared as promised , Deserts seem overly nooked

Quite a few Vegan options!

My go-to’s here are the chili and the roasted vegetable sandwich. Of course they have salads and sides that can be notched & matched for a meal too.

Pros: Quick service, Lunch & Dinner Vegan options

Cons: Almost always very busy. , Not a good place for vegan breakfast

Noteworthy effort

Silver Diner deserves some serious credit for trying to incorporate healthy and veg options into their menu including several vegan options, locally-sourced ingredients and even some organic items. Vegetarian and vegan items are clearly identified and they are fairly creative. Within each section, there is usually at least one vegan option, e.g., under salads, there is the "Warm Roasted Local Veggie Salad;" under sandwiches, there is a "Roasted Veggie Ciabatta," under Drinks/Shakes, there is a nice "Hibiscus Mango Soy Shake." There is a separate "Vegan Entrees" section but it only includes a few entrees, including a Pineapple Basil Veg Stir Fry and a couple of vegetable dishes. Other than a vegan chili, there is not much in the way of dishes with significant protein. (They did once have a good hummus.) The Brussel Sprouts and Lentils dish is a good choice. The ciabatta is good, mostly including brussel sprouts, red peppers and pesto. It comes with a side spinach said that includes fruits in a vinaigrette.

Pros: Long hours; finding late-night veg options is easy, Menu options clearly marked , Vegan milkshake

Cons: Limited options, Can be very crowded, especially weekends

Tasty, clearly labeled vegan options

Silver Diner has several vegan entrees and side dishes, clearly labeled with a "v". A section of their menu is labeled "Vegan Entrees", although there are only a few options. The Teriyaki Portabello Mushroom with Farro dish was very good, as was the vegan salad.

I truly appreciate Silver Diner highlighting the vegan options they have, even going so far as to prominently display the photo of the vegan mushroom dish on the menu out of all the entrees.

Pros: Clearly marked vegan options
