Few offerings but tasty - Edit
Had breakfast here again this morning when it wasn't busy for a change. We were seated quickly and our orders were out just as fast. I was worried that the chefs wouldn't know how to prepare 'Just Egg' as it can be tricky, but our waiter was very helpful and confident in the current chefs abilities. He didn't steer me wrong, the benedict was delicious and the 'eggs' were cooked perfectly! Overall a pleasant experience.

So many options - Edit
I’m shocked at how many vegan options were available. Even a milkshake! I got the vegan eggs Benedict with tempeh bacon and the hibiscus mango milkshake. (They were out of soy so they used almond milk instead) everything tasted so good .

Who woulda thought! - Edit
Several vegan items on menu. Clearly labeled vegan. So nice to order in a diner and not have to ask for substitutions! Vegan “just egg” Benedict with tempeh “bacon” was outstanding. Can’t wait to come back and try to other options. Hibiscus mango milkshake was awesome.

New Vegan Options - Edit
There have always been a few vegan options on the menu, but within the last week or so, Silver Diner has added several more. They now advertise that they have 12 exclusively vegan dishes. That includes a vegan Eggs Benedict on the breakfast menu. You can also replace the egg in any of their breakfast dishes with Just Egg for a small fee ($1.99 I believe). We tried the Tofu Skewers, Beyond Meatballs over Cauliflower and Cheese, Tofu Bahn Mi, and the Eggs Benedict. We enjoyed them all. We will be going more frequently now that there are more options.

Fantastic Service, Great Options - Edit
My husband and I stopped here for breakfast. They have several vegetarian option and meat selection. They have some vegan options, but not for breakfast. However, the staff were accommodating with my breakfast meal by omitting certain ingredients to make it vegan friendly! My husband enjoyed his meal with local meats, pancakes, potatoes, and eggs. Will definitely come again if I am in the area.

It deserves 5* but the app doesn't let me - Edit
It has a few really good vegan options. The roasted vegetable chiabata is really good, as the stir fry. They also have a vegan milk shake, vegan chili and more stuff.
Read moreHappy cow should allow give these places 5 stars. We should encourage restaurants to offer vegan options, and more in the D.C. area, that it's lacking of them.

Far exceeded expectations - Edit
Went here for breakfast out of necessity while the car was being worked on. Was expecting a greasy spoon. Instead, was surprised by a great menu with several veg and vegan options. Menu set up by a celebrity chef. Sourced with local farmers. Ordered the roasted veggie ciabatta. Very good. Good coffee was another nice surprise. Great service. Would have given 5 stars, but against Happy Cow policy for non-veg restaurants. Surprised that they invested so much time in the great menu, and that they don't have commercials advertising it.
