Probably not vegan options. - Edit
After seeing the reviews here we attempted to eat at Silk Road.
Read moreNone of the staff understood what 'vegan options' means, or why we'd want meals without meat. Our waiter tried to suggest some options with yogurt or chicken and didn't have any idea what we were talking about.
As rice in Turkey is normally prepared with animal bullion, if the staff don't know what you're talking about with vegetarian or vegan you're probably eating meat.
After futilely trying to explain ourselves and the entire staff staring blankly at us we left and went somewhere else.
Cons: The staff have no idea.

Not good - Edit
I asked the staff to switch out the salad for soup or something as I don’t like to eat cold foods and they said they couldn’t do that, so I ordered a lentil soup on the side and asked them not to bring the salad anyways so as not to waste food, but they brought it with cold veggies anyways. Not a big deal, but sad to waste it. Also, the clay pot veggies were good, but something was kind of grainy inside, like a few times chewing on sand- maybe from the clay pot? Lentil soup was watery and probably among the worst ones I’ve had. Finally, the food was spicy, but it doesn’t say on the menu. Overall, needs improvement in food and service. The waiter brought us the bill and we wanted to split between two. I said I would pay for mine (veg pot and soup) and the waiter asked us how much those were! He awkwardly waited for someone at our table to do the math for him and started at the tip box. That’s pretty distasteful service. In the end, just happy to have options and they knew what vegan meant so I can at least be sure everything I had was plant based.

I had the falafel plate with added hummus. It was delicious! - Edit
Probably the best falafels I’ve ever had. Server was fantastic and friendly. He served us tea free of charge after our meal. My fiancé had the veggie pottery and the server added extra salad. Everything was really fresh and delicious. Wish we found it sooner!!!

Good food, not very vegan friendly though - Edit
There are a couple of veg options but vegan on request. Someone said below that the musakka is vegan but it comes with yogurt if you don’t specify vegan! Vegetarian grill and baked beans are vegan. Also falafel on request. Food is not labeled as vegetarian or vegan though

Fantastic vegan meal in a relaxed setting - Edit
Decided to work my way through Happy Cow Goreme restaurants and tried Silk Road my second night. Jumped at having hummus which was delicious, the lentil soup was homemade and very tasty and as my main the server suggested the moussaka which surprised me as thought it would be vegetarian but no it was vegan! Happy days! Fantastic recommendation as portion was huge and so delicious! Loved sitting without shoes in the cushioned benches. The meal was delicious, reasonably priced and generous portions! Came out to $8 USD with a juice and offered Turkish Apple tea. Highly recommended!

Nice warm place in the winter with lots of vegan options! - Edit
We had dinner at Silk Road every night during our stay in Goreme.
Read moreWe found that this place had the best quality/price options.
They had quite a few vegan choices and everything was delicious.
We enjoyed this place also because it was friendly, cozy and warm during the winter and we could have a nice warm glass of red wine or a cold beer.
We really recommend this place for a nice meal at an affordable price.
Pros: Tasty food, Serves alcohol, Kids friendly, friendly staff

Decent food for a decent price! - Edit
We ate here many times during our stay in Kapadokya and enjoyed the food. They have many options for vegans which is nice, and the staff are mainly friendly. The only thing that I would say was that, although a one off incident, my boyfriend (also vegan) found a bit of beef in his Veg Platter!! The owner was very apologetic and said it had never happened before but we definitely ate with caution after that.
