good veggie Moroccan food - Edit
We didn't have high expectations going here since the food we'd had up to that point on our trip has been very unimaginative and bland. This place was different though as there was plenty to chose from for veggies and vegans alike.
Read moreThere was the usual veggie tajine and couscous dishes, but with a variety of ingredients and flavours including tajines with beans and lentils, which is not so common in our experience. All the food was freshly prepared in the small kitchen by the friendly owner who was happy to hear that we found him on HappyCow.
If you're in town, I'd say this is your best bet for Moroccan veggie food
Pros: friendly owner , freshly prepared, interesting variety

happy there’s a fully vegan restaurant in the city. the pastilla was really delicious but i believe the filling of the spring rolls were noth the same just a different shape. and the falafel were not that special.

Disappointing - Edit
After reading the great reviews we decided to give it a try. We went to the place next to it the days before and if you compare the both there is a huge difference in taste. We ordered falafel (which was okay), spring rolls, pastilla (soapy) and lentil soup (very watery). First of all they seemed not interested at all and as mentioned the taste was rather disappointing. The prices are really good however if the food does not taste great this won't make it any better. If you are around, decide to visit the other vegan restaurant with the most delicious items!

Homey authentic fresh - Edit
I ate here several times over my week in town. It's one of my favorite dinning experiences in the country.
Read moreThe place seems to be family run & the whole experience felt like being welcomed into someones home. The kitchen is cluttered with various simmering pots. The children are haning around & doing their homework. But the dinning area is still very comforable & it's cool that it opens up onto a square in the heart of the madina.
Food is all made from scratch when you order so allow time for that.
Food is fresh & very authentic. Which I appreciated you can tell some places are catering to tourists exclusivly & lack this quality.
Prices are very reasonable. I love this spot & hope you check it out.

A cute restaurant - Edit
This is a tiny restaurant at a very cool location in the middle of the medina. It serves typical Moroccan food such as tajine and is very affordable.

We loved it! - Edit
This little vegan restaurant is in a beautiful square in the medina. The food was amazing, and we ate quite a lot! The service by the daughter of the owner was also great. Watching the cats while eating the delicious three course menu we ordered was just perfect!

Cheap food - Edit
The food at Shyadma’s was quite tasty and very cheap. It is also one of the two vegan restaurants in this city.
Read moreUnfortunately, the hygiene of the place was not up to standard. Had it been, I would have given Shyadma’s 5 stars. I found a hair in the soup and a hair in the bread, both of which were clearly not ours, and both of which had clearly not just fallen on top as they brought it out. They were cooked into the food.
We’re not really that fussy usually and won’t really complain if we find a hair on top, because mistakes can happen, but I have to deduct points for two hairs neither of which were on top. It also took like an hour and a bit for our food to come out, but we didnt really mind because it was nice to sit in the shade.
3 stars from niki_nine
Pros: Cheap, Tasty
Cons: Found hairs in food, Took a while to come out

Nice little restaurant offering typical food - Edit
It is a nice little restaurant which gives the perfect idea of moroccan food. Everything is homemade and despite the fact that we had to wait until they served us the food, it worthed it. They were nice and the price was beyond fair!

Amazing VEGAN in Essaouira!! - Edit
Amazing VEGAN food in the heart of Essaouira!!
Read moreMade fresh when ordered. Large menu. Super nice young man and a sweet lady that cooked for us.
Indoor and outdoor seating.
We had the lentil soup (2 bowls), one order of falafel-6 pieces with a small salad, two vegetable pastilla (THEY ARE LARGE!) which came with an avocado, cucumber & banana salad along with a 1L of sparking water all for 120MAD!! 12€ is simply amazing. This meal in California USA would be over $30USD!
Definitely go there. Vegan or not, you will love it!
Pros: Freshly made vegan food , Very inexpensive!!, Large quantities

Small family restaurant in the Medina. Lost of tajines but you can actually choose the veggies on it, many combinations. They also have falafel, pastas and salads. It's a no brainer if you are vegan. And the family running it is very cute.
