Never again - would (almost) rather eat meat.

Food tasted OK-ish, but frustratingly expensive given how expensive and generally bad it all was.

Glum, drab depressing room. Empty apart from the owner.

Each dish was 1300 yen, and the owner/chef was only capable of bringing them to us one at a time, and she cooked them sloooooowly. So we had a 10+ minute wait between each *item* (not course) we ordered. Of course we wanted the food much, much quicker than that.

I really don't like leaving negative reviews for family run places, particularly ones that are good for veggies.
I don't mind if a place is a bit ramshackle if it feels like the owner has put their heart into making good food (or dropped their prices to compensate for bad food). But here, the owner didn't even seem to try, in fact she didn't even seem to care.

The other reviews here have been more favourable than mine. So, if you're wondering which ones to believe, go there but before you commit to buying any food, have a look at the price of the food, how clean the place is and whether there are any other customers.

If there is one Japanese lady there working by herself, she will prob bring you each dish (not course) at ten minute intervals.

With that knowledge you may decide to give it a go - if so leave a review here to let everyone know how it went.

Pros: Didn't get food poisoning

Cons: Expensive, Sloooooow, Drab

OK, but once was enough

We had lunch there and were only offered 2 options - kara age or sukiyaki. We asked for a menu, but the owner only showed us the page with the two lunch items and then whisked the menu away, so we had no opportunity to see what else might be available at other times. The food was OK, and the owner was really friendly, but the restaurant is a tiny little basement place with only 3 tables, no windows and questionable cleanliness. It was almost impossible to find - even though our taxi driver used his navigation system.

Pros: inexpensive, friendly owner

Cons: basement, lack of menu choices, inconvenient location

Great atmosphere!

Nice little place that is really close to Shin-Obuku if you are staying at Sekitei. The food was somewhat overpriced I felt compared to other Vegan - Vege places in Japan but it was a nice experience.

Pros: Location, Open good hours

Cons: Food a little expensive, Some foods abit oily
