Great Indian food - Edit
Fancier Indian place. Caters to tourists but really good. Ate here for dinner. Portions a little small for the price, but taste made up for it. Tried to go back for lunch buffet, but only had one vegan dish.

Wonderful vegan Indian food! - Edit
Wide selection and the food is delicious. You can't beat it! Probably the best Indian food I've had- vegan or not. I got the buffet and the toffu dish was fantastic. If you're in the area, COME HERE! You will not be disappointed.

excellent food, service and view - Edit
I don't often give reviews but I had such a great experience I had to share. The food had the perfect amount of spices. Everything came out nice and hotand fast. The servers were very tentative and super friendly, including the manager. It's outdoor dining on the second floor and you get a great view of the water. Wine selection by the glass and beer choices could use some help but other than that everything was perfect. It's a must dine!!!!
Read morePros: on the water, lots of choices, outdoor covered seating
Cons: poor wine selection by the glass, need better beer selection

Big Island awesome Indian food - Edit
The food at Shivalik was so good that we went there twice in our one week on the Big Island. The mattar paneer was vividly spiced, and the salt lassi was also outstanding. This was the best Indian food I'd had in quite some time. There is a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan selections - more to choose from than in some all-veg places. It's a pity the maximum rating for a non-vegetarian restaurant is four cows, because I would give this five cows with an exclamation mark!
