Amazing experience! - Edit
Such good value for money and the most fantastic and personalised service. The ramen is delicious and you also get curry, rice and karaage included as well as your drink. The staff also gave us a free dessert (matcha mochi) and wrote out our names in Japanese for us. Such a lovely experience.

Wish I could give 5 stars - Edit
We've been in Tokyo less than a week, and have already eaten here twice. The meal set is SO good and extremely filling. Another reviewer said the highest spice level isn't that hot, but I would absolutely disagree. The level 2 spice is comparable to what would probably be called a level 4 in an Asian restaurant in the US. It's delicious, but don't get overly confident in ordering. Aside from the food, the women running the restaurant are absolutely delightful. They made us feel like we're attending a family dinner with people who are legitimately happy to see us!

Flavoursome, unique, egalitarian - Edit
A lovely Ramen joint run by an all female Muslim team who are very attentiveness and strive for equality and sustainability in many regards! I had the spiciest ramen they offer (love my spice!) but would have still liked another habanero as it wasn't too hot. The food was absolutely delicious and they even give you a free match dessert (Vegan) once you finish your main. Don't miss out on this in Tokyo; I'm upset I didn't have time to visit twice!

I had the spicy vegan ramen with the highest spice level (1,400yen) I didn‘t find it spicy at all but to be fair, I‘m REALLY good at handeling spice.

Filled me with admiration and ramen - Edit
We went on a Sunday evening, which turned out to mean no wait – a big plus considering the waits some have experienced. What a wonderful, welcoming atmosphere! The vegan ramen sets are generously and tastefully assembled (in addition to the ramen, ours came with curry rice, soy kara-age, a drink, and a small dessert). Vegan options in meat-serving restaurants often feel like an afterthought or bandwagon-jumping, but not here.

Pros: Great ramen, Friendly staff, Generous portions

Best vegan ramen!! - Edit
Amazing little ramen restaurant in a quiet area of Shinjuku. The restaurant is small, maybe a maximum of 10-12 customers, but worth the wait if there’s a queue. The food tastes amazing and is carefully prepared in front of you as you sit at the bar in front of the kitchen. The staff are super friendly and had a few conversations with us while we’re were there, and they were attentive and made our visit very memorable.

Worth the wait if you want vegan ramen - Edit
A halal/vegan restaurant serving 2 options of vegan ramen (regular and spicy). Super friendly staff with very good English.
Read moreSpicy ramen is rated 1 to 10. My daughter loves hot food but it was suggested that she have a ‘1’. She could have easily had a ‘3’. She was given extra chilli to add to her Ramen to taste and ended up adding the lot.
Meal comes as a set as others have mentioned, including a drink and small mochi dessert. I would have preferred to just have a big bowl of ramen but that didn’t seem to be an option if ordering vegan. Not sure.
It’s halal, so no alcohol.
The restaurant is small and because most people have the set menu it takes around an hour per seating. 2 guests leave, 2 come in etc.
Pros: Set menu , easy to order, Friendly staff, Small, homely , sit at the bar
Cons: Small menu, few choices, You may have to wait, Not many veggies

Excellent and copious set meal - Edit
Super friendly staff (and they all speak excellent English which is a plus for me). We had to wait outside for about 30 min since the place is small, but it was worth it. I had the spicy vegan ramen set meal which comes with a great curry on rice, and vegan karaage. I also tried their soy ice cream matcha frappe, which was great.

English below👇
Vegan ramen is kind of a rare bird, but we’re happy to say we found a delicious specimen at Shinjukugyoen Ouka Ramen, just five minutes from the famous park of the same name.
It’s a halal restaurant, run by Muslims for Muslims. The place was pretty full (it’s small, seating only 15) when we were there, but Ryuji was the only Japanese customer there. I enjoyed the atmosphere, eating tasty food with many different people.
At lunchtime there are but two options for vegans, the Regular or Spicy ramen. We went with the Regular, which includes lots of different veggies in a tasty, garlicky broth. I wasn’t a fan of the large tomato slice, but all the other veggies were fun to eat, and the noodles!! They were amazing, with a perfect bite to them.
So I recommend going here, but take note that the restaurant recommends making reservations during peak hours. They’re quite popular!
Pros: Delicious , Friendly service
Cons: Restaurant is small and fills up quickly

Expensive, but an experience - Edit
I can sort of echo what Charlotte said in her review concerning the basics, but my experience was better. As far as long waits go, you can and probably should make reservations - problem solved.
Read moreFirst, the staff are lovely. They are clearly interested in providing the customer with a positive, pleasing experience. Generally that's the exception rather than the norm these days.
The restaurant is prix fixe, meaning you pay whatever you pay for a three-or-so-course meal. That usually equates to not being cheap, and that holds true here. It's about 3k Yen for the "large" vegan option. Pretty expensive. The menu comes with the ramen, an appetizer, at least one side, and a choice of drinks. The restaurant will prepare the ramen to your preferred level of spiciness. I ordered the level "3," which was a bit on the spicy side (I suspect too spicy for most people) - I usually like things five-alarm. But, the soup was superlative. Exquisite. The noodles were not as supple as I would like, unfortunately. The veg additions for me were the same as Charlotte's, but my half-tomato was steamed and topped with little beads of agar-based, veggie-based "roe" which was nice. It was prepared delicately enough to eat most of it, as was the sweet potato. I personally liked the other the raw veggies in the soup - nice offset to the broth and noodles. I also believe the karagge was too salty. I don't dig mock meat stuff as a rule though, so for me it was just a novelty. The small side of rice and Japanese curry was fine but by the time that came I was pretty full.
Why we still can't give half-star reviews on HappyCow is hard to understand, but I'd give the overall experience 3.5 stars. 3 for the noodles, 4 for everything else (= "good" overall). Dear HappyCow - there's a chasm between "fair" and "very good!" Please take note!
Edit: They accept credit cards. I passed that info along to HC as well.

Not worth the wait or price - Edit
The staff were so friendly, they were chatty and helpful, possibly the most welcoming restaurant I’ve ever visited. However the ramen was really bad!! I had the regular vegan ramen set, 3000yen. The soup was so salty I couldn’t eat it. The noodles tasted undercooked. The vegetables in my soup were a slice of sweet potato, one mushroom half, a baby sweet corn and HALF a huge tomato. Such a random combination... The karaage soy meat was salty too. The curry was nice but I didn’t really go to a ramen restaurant for a mini curry. Also, we waited outside for over an hour. Sadly, I would not recommend or go back there again.

Not worth the hype - Edit
Vegan ramen set will run you $30. It includes some soy meat and curry rice and a drink, but quality of ramen is not worth that price point. Tasted like vegetable soup with no savory flavor. Would give 4 stars for friendly staff, good ambiance and plenty of food if price were half as much. Also this place serves a ton of meat and no alcohol.

Great ramen and sides! - Edit
We ordered 2 ramen sets that came with a soymeat appetizer and a drink. You can either get the normal or spicy vegan ramen. We also got a curry side dish and an iced matcha frappe (which could be made vegan).
Read moreThe soymeat was extremely well flavored, very juicy and a little chewy! The ramen had amazing noodles and a big amount of toppings that all tasted great. The matcha frappe was really good and refreshing! Definitely recommend it. The normal portion is very big, so order the small size if you can't eat a lot.
The place looks like a typical small ramen shop. The service was really great. The staff spoke perfect English. They also asked us about our travels in Japan and served a palate cleanser herbal tea at the end of our meal. Felt very welcomed!
Pros: great vegan options, staff is very friendly and speaks English
