Excellent food and central location in Sydney - Edit
The food was excellent, the location was central in Sydney and the staff great. The Ruben and Lamb Tzatziki wrap were our favourites and I highly recommend, followed by Join the Club, Go Ham Toastie, Smoked Tofu and vegan omelette in that order.

Really great food and coffees are great too. I had the club toastie which was insane and my girlfriend had the lamb wrap and we even ordered an extra mushroom toastie because it was all that good! It’s a small cafe with not cheap but reasonable prices. Really cute and busy spot!

Great 'lamb' wrap which was super tasty. Had an iced match which was also good. Got one of the fudgey brownies which was pretty sticky/gummy which I wasn't a super fan of. Would definitely go back though.

Everything we are was great. They dont have the waffles anymore only pancakes which is a real shame. Its quite pricey but then so is everywhere in Sydney. Staff are really friendly. Bagel was the best!

3.5 stars: very good caramel slice - Edit
The caramel slice was delicious, really lovely crunchy biscuit base, and lovely caramel and chocolate, however there was a noticeable coconut flavour.
Read moreThe Poke bowl had a very tasty miso ginger dressing. The rice was nice and warm but I would have liked the tofu and mushrooms to be warm.
The Rueben toastie would have benefitted from more slaw and dressing to balance out the pastrami.

Being central Sydney and in this economy, Shift isn’t cheap, but it didn’t skimp on the quality AT ALL. Every cent you pay is worth it. I actually couldn’t believe how good this wrap is, I audibly groaned when I bit into it 🤤 I cannot wait until I can have it again, but until then, it’ll be in my dreams.

I LOVED my Reuben toasted sandwich and my husband, his sweet pancakes. We were here a few months ago and I forgot to submit a review. We went in here again today and I could literally taste the flavoursome sandwich all over again from memory. Great to be able to get some extras like dips, jerky, pesto and moorish slices. Take time to check out the photos on the wall of rescued animals for some feel good vibes.

I love this cafe have gone many times over the years. Have not been for a while and had lunch with my husband. He got the Ruben sandwich I gif the Thai beef Salad and we shared pancakes and a coffee. Everything was delicious 😋

Lovely place that serves very, very good vegan versions of cafe classics. The staff and whole environment at Shift is very lovely, it is definitely somewhere you could be comfortable sitting and relaxing in for a few hours. The Reuben is absolutely amazing, the bread, sauce, and mock meat is all perfect. The bacon and egg bagel really does live up to the "best in the world" title. My partner who is allergic to eggs had previously never had any form of an omelette and was super happy with the omelette that came with the big breakfast! Definitely try the desserts as well, the caramel slice is my favourite. The drinks are great too.
