Absolutely fantastic - Edit

The afternoon tea at the Shangri-La is quite expensive (45 euros for one, 80 for two), so I hadn't visited it until this week despite being aware of it for a couple of years now. The food was absolutely fantastic, and the waiters incredibly friendly and helpful.

The afternoon tea consists of three small savoury sandwiches and wraps - two of which were a little bland, but the third was delicious. The remainder is a selection of luxurious small cakes, biscuits, and scones (with vegetable cream). All of these were delicious - some of the best vegan baking/patisserie I've ever tasted - the textures and blends of flavours are incredibly delicate and well-balanced.

This is accompanied by a hot drink - there are a wide selection of teas and coffees, although there did not seem to be a vegan hot chocolate.

There was too much food for two people, but we were given a small box to take home, and a day later we still haven't finished everything. The value - there really is a lot of food, and it is excellent quality - offsets somewhat the steep price.

Pros: Great service, Delicious food, Relaxing setting

Cons: Quite expensive, Vegan hot drinks limited to tea and coffee

way too sweet for me - Edit

I love this restaurant - it is luxurious and the service is wonderful.
I appreciate they made their afternoon tea a completely vegan.
Loved their scones, but all others were way too sweet, especially the pastries.
Veggie Pâtisseries is definitely better in quality, but the service is completely different.

As I skipped lunch that day, i managed to finish everything, but I felt liked dragged heavily, due to the enormous amount of sugar ...
I drunk a lot of mint tea after..,

La Bauhinia
There is another restaurant in this hotel, which offers all vegan cuisine.
It is called 100% Green Dinning (only first Thursday of the month).
The food is ok, but the experience is fantastic.

Unique vegan afternoon tea time! - Edit

First, the place: a luxurious palace with first-class service.
Second, the food: you get 2 pots of tea (the tea list is impressive), a plate of small treats (nothing impressive), several scones with coconut chantilly and jams (super good), and 4 incredible pastries (best ever).
Third, the price: 80 € for two person may sound expensive yet for the quality and quantity (come hungry!) that you will get it is not.
A unique offer in Paris!

Pros: Incredible pastries, Great tea & food, First-class setting

Vegan Afternoon Tea - Edit

My friend and I decided to treat ourselves to vegan afternoon tea during our trip to Paris. We made reservations online, but I noticed a few walk ins that were seated with no problem. Afternoon tea is only served from 4-6 pm on the terrace. There are umbrellas over each table, but it still got quite hot, especially drinking hot tea, so do keep in mind during the hot spring/summer days! Service was quite slow as only one waiter was assigned to the terrace, but he was very helpful and spoken fluent English.

We settled on tea for 2, which included 2 pots of tea, vegan pastries, scones and finger sandwiches. The tea list was extensive, and the vegan pastries were divine, no doubt the best I've ever had. It was quite the treat, and I'll definitely make a point to return if I end up in Paris again.

Pros: Amazing vegan pastries , Extensive tea selection

Cons: Outdoor seating only , Expensive

Incredible cuisine, luxurious space - Edit

This was probably one of my top dining experiences in Paris, and so incredible to enjoy vegan food in a place like this. The restaurant is in a luxury hotel, and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I had a vegan starter, entree, and dessert, but there were non-vegan options as well. A three course meal for two, with champagne, wine, digestif, and coffee was almost 300€, but well worth it if you're looking for a truly luxurious experience, incredible service, and exquisite food. Wander out to the garden afterwards for an amazing view of the Eiffel Tower.

Best of the best vegan pastries in the world! - Edit

I must admit... I am a gourmet with a sweet tooth ;-)
I really missed the very fine pastries that are only found in France's elegant pastry shops. So I was really exited when I saw my French vegan friends starting to share photos and enthusiastic comments about the vegan afternoon tea at the Shangri-La hotel. I tried it for the first time last summer, with several non-vegan parisians. All of us were absolutely amazed! Pastry chef Michael Bartocetti can be credited for revolutionizing the art of French pâtisserie. His vegan pastries are at the same level than the top haute pastries from celebrity chefs. Come hungry as the Vegan Afternoon Tea includes a plate of small savory treats; fragrant scones served with homemade coconut chantilly (whipped cream) and jams; a plate of 'petits fours' (small bite-sized confectionery and cakes) and the piece maitresse is the assortment of four delicate and scrumptious pastries. The tea menu is also very impressive.
The Vegan Afternoon Tea at the Shangri-La is now my first (highly anticipated) stop when I arrive in Paris. And we also tried the Green Dinner, a 100% vegan menu served every first thursday of the month at the Bauhinia high-end restaurant. It was outstanding! I would highly recommended this unique experience to anyone who wants to treat themselves in a truly magical surrounding. Haute vegan at its best!

Amazing vegan afternoon tea time! - Edit

This luxurious place offers a vegan tea time each day with a selection of vegan pastries made by Michael Bartocetti. Accompanied with small fine sandwiches, Chantilly cream and small flavourful breads, this afternoon tea is really amazing. Portions are huge, that makes the price of the tea time (€39 for one and €70 for two) not so expensive, considering quality and place. The place is nice and a pianist is playing during the afternoon. I recommend not to eat before and to spend the afternoon here.

A negative point is that waiters are not always familiar with veganism and if you order a vegan hot chocolate, clearly precise that you do not want any non vegan extra food with. Otherwise, they can bring you madeleines and non vegan Chantilly.

Pros: fine vegan pastries, nice place, huge range of teas

Cons: waiter not always familiar with veganism
