Untrustworthy menu

This menu had labelled vegan dumplings, but when ordering we were told the coating may contain some egg. Originally the waitress said we could have noodles but we then discovered they were egg noodles also. Other dishes on the menu she claimed were vegan but we didn’t want to risk it due to the confusion.

Cons: Staff unaware that vegans can’t eat eggs, Dishes labelled vegan that “may contain egg”

Vegan? Don’t risk it

Came here with friends because of the happy cow reviews. We had to leave as the waitress kept changing her mind to which options were vegan.

Firstly, she said the dumplings were absolutely fine but then said the outer shell could have contained egg. Secondly, she said we could have the noodles even though we repeated that we couldn’t have egg or dairy and she then after double checking said the noodles were egg. We made our swift exit.

Could have just been that particular person lacking serving us who lacked the knowledge, but I wouldn’t risk it.

Nice food

We got the zucchini dumplings and eggplant, both were very nice and good portion sizes. The waitress was a bit grumpy and it was very busy, you have to share tables with other people because they're all crammed in. It was very noisy inside once it was full but the food was very good.

Cons: Very busy and crowded , Not that many vegan options

Delicious vegan dumplings

Loved the zucchini vegan dumplings and will definitely be going back. Also a lot of vegetarian options clearly marked on the menu.

Awesome dumplings

Wow! First day in Melbourne and I have already been blown away. The zucchini boiled dumplings were to die for. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I also ordered a tofu dish which I then brought home. Too service too. Well worth a visit. Small, cosy and authentic

Pros: Fresh , Yummy dumplings , Central location

Cons: Not many options , Small venue

Worth a visit for the vegan dumplings

Amazing zuchinni dumplings! You can get fried or streamed. I can't decide which ones I liked best. 1 serve = 12 decent sized dumplings so it's enough for a meal for 1. I've not tried any of the other vego things on the menu. I would give 5 star rating but it wont let me.

Pros: Best zuchinni dumplings

Cons: busy place you might have to wait for a table, can be hard to find

Warning - these dumplings are addictive

Great location, in the CBD, however in an arcade you could be forgiven for not expecting too much of this bustling cafe.

Order the zucchini dumplings - this is it! You can chose the fried or the steamed, that much is up to you. But you must have the dumplings!! They are tasty, with loads of coriander and tofu as well. Decent serve and good price.

You may have trouble getting a table it is really popular, particularly on a Friday. But they do take bookings. Tea is complimentary. Service is always swift and friendly.

Pros: best dumplings in town

Cons: not a vegan/vego place

Nice food

I went a while ago and had some vegan zucchini dumplings. They were lovely. I had their tea as well, but I found it a bit too sweet for my liking. The atmosphere is nice, however, I found there wasn't much space, not that I mind. The staff was friendly, I'll go there again.

Pros: Nice food, Some vegan options

Cons: I must pay with cash, The prices are okay, but they could do better

only few vegan options

AFew dishes are marked veg for egg eaters, not vegan. Not all could turn vegan. As non-spicy eater I couldn't find what to eat, ordered not spicy rice & tofu but was spicy anyway.

Over priced

The food here is not BAD however it is over priced. A plate of broccoli is $18 and the dumplings are $15. Definitely don't dig the dumplings either. If you get the pan fried dumplings they are fried in the same pan as all the other dumplings and therefore are not vegan (even though we were told all the food we ordered was vegan.)

Pros: location

Cons: price

Pleasantly surprised

The first time we ate here, we found the food excellent, the second time, however, it was more of a mixed bag.

The vegan selection is quite small, but clearly marked.

The pan-fried zucchini dumplings are excellent, as is the scallion pancake (the egg-free version, which wasn't available the second time and may no longer be on the menu). The sauteed corn with pine nuts and gogi berries is better than it looks, if rather sweet. However, none of us (3 people) liked the hot and sour potato.

Pros: Inexpensive, Excellent dumplings

Cons: Limited veg selection, Location is grungy

Went here to try the vegan dumplings. This small restaurant located inside a mall is usually very busy during lunchtime. I ordered an aloe vera juice which unfortunately contained honey. Asked the waitress if i could return the unopened bottle and ordered a 'herbal tea', thinking it was in fact a hot tea. Next thing was them handing me a cold can of 'herbal tea', with the information being completely in chinese. Tasted like it was made out of 99% honey.... The dumplings tasted very good but they are really expensive cause there has been a hype around the vegan dumplings at this restaurant. Would maybe go again if really hungry and next time, I'll just order a water....

Pros: Tasty

Cons: Expensive, Staff doesn't speak proper english
