Quick and delicious vegan options - Edit

Shake Cafe is a great place for meeting up with a friend for a bite, having a sit-down and read a magazine or people-watch, or for take-away. A decent selection of juices, smoothies, salads, and wraps. Mostly labeled but staff are friendly should you wish to ask for any confirmation.

Great juuces - Edit

Came here twice for juices - had the detix and the green juices which were great and the elixir shots (cayenne, lemon and ginger and turmeric, lemon and ginger). Refreshing! We disn't try the food options but they had veg options like black bean salads, vegan pastries.

Amazing Croissants! - Edit

Their vegan sandwich options are pretty nice, not amazing but not bad. However I did come back here again during my trip to get another vegan croissant! They were absolutely delicious!

Pros: Great vegan croissants

Cons: Not very exciting sandwiches

Lovely staff, average gelato - Edit

Only tried the gelato: vegan options include pineapple, mango and strawberry. But the ice cream is too sweet and lacks a distinct taste of the fruit.

Staff were really friendly.

Pros: Central location, Offers many vegan options

Cons: Disappointingly average gelato

Good Grab and Go - Edit

Good stop for a quick grab and go before catching the train, or as a lunch while seeing Florence. There are two locations one near the train station and one near the Santa Maria. I grabbed a Vegan Brioche on more than one occasion along with a cappuccino (they have plant based milk). I also tried one of the wraps and one of the sandwiches, neither was bad but they weren't great.

Pros: Cheap, Fast, Healthy

Cons: Serves Meat, Chain

Great for lunch/breakfast - Edit

2 locations.
1 near Duomo, 1 near Santa Maria Novella.
Great coffee.
Their smoothie bowls (prior to being vegan) were amazing, as are the smoothies.
They do offer vegan options: pressed juices, salads and vegan croissants which are great.
My go to stop on the run.

Pros: Healthy Fresh pressed juices Vegan croissants Glu

Cons: Less vegan and gluten free options

Convenient for tourists on the go... - Edit

Convenient service and location with several vegan options. Perfect for tourists on the go, but this is not a foodie destination. Grab some snacks for your sight seeing day and be thankful they have things clearly marked vegano...

Long wait but good food - Edit

We ordered a juice, and 2 vegan salads which we waited over 30 minutes for then asked where it was and they said they had forgotten to make the salads, although they did then give us a free juice to compensate. The juices were very good and the salads were a nice size. I would recommend going to the other branch of Shake Cafe however as there was much better service. There are lots of vegan options such as salads, wraps and bagels and at the other branch they also made one of the smoothies vegan for me by omitting the yoghurt and using almond milk.

Pros: Good food, Reasonably priced

Cons: Long wait

Fantastic breakfast place - Edit

We came to Shake Cafe every morning we were in Florence. We got a vegan breakfast pastry and a cappuccino or latte with soy milk. The vegan stuff was clearly marked, the staff spoke English, and they were quick! We also grabbed sandwiches one day to take on our day trip to Pisa, which were yummy. My only complain is they only had three different pastries, so on day 4 I had to get the same one again. Highly recommend for breakfast if you are in the Santa Maria Novella area.

Pros: clearly marked vegan items, spoke english, great prices

Cons: limited vegan options

Exactly my cap of coffee!!! - Edit

Shake Cafe is a small café that offers wonderful terrific, shakes, soups and more. They make great coffee, and you can have it with regular milk, soy or almond (which is the best option!). you can take the food away or sit and enjoy good vibes. Service is wonderful, everything is tasty – to sum this up – recommended for vegetarians, vegans and everyone else. We visited both shake cafes in Firenze and they are equal at their quality.

Pros: Excellent food, Friendly staff, Nice vibe

Cons: Good value but not cheap, Food might take a while

Great! - Edit

Stumbled across this cute cafè after visiting Lush cosmetics which is conveniently located just across the street! Had a great soy lattè and delicious vegan bagel! My boyfriend enjoyed his vegan salad and choc/date shake, yum! Got two more juices to go before we left which we're lovely. The staff we're wonderful, so friendly and patient with me not speaking Italian haha

Pros: lovely staff , Good vegan selection , location

Cons: moderate prices (not too expensive, but not cheap)

Well located - Edit

Florence is one of the best cities I've travelled to to eat vegan, there is so much choice and such perfect places... Shake Cafe is not one of my favorites. The vegan wrap was nice and quite cheap but the salad arrived on the table with two missing vegetables and we had to ask for them afterwords. Plus the salad was very simple and quite expensive for what it was. But the staff is friendly and the restaurant is very well located, just near the station on a nice little piazza.

Pros: friendly staff, inexpensive, well located

Cons: food not so good

busy place - Edit

On our way to the train station to leave, we stopped in Shake Cake for a last gelato. They only had sorbettos, no vegan milk based ones. We got strawberry and chocolate. Also, they were out of the vegan croissants. Happy they are popular, but sad that we didn't get to try them. It was very busy around lunchtime and it was very convenient location to the train station.

Pros: vegan options

Cons: serves meat, dairy and eggs

Fresh juice and lots of vegan options - Edit

Juice/salad/sandwich shop very close to the Florence train station with a Californian-style vibe. They have lots of fresh juices and smoothies (labeled vegan), coconut water, vegan pastries like croissants (!), salads (served with bread), sandwiches with tofu/seitan/hummus and more. Coffee with choice of soy/almond/rice milk. I'm not sure that their gelato is vegan-- ask them.

Sit outside on a nice day.

Pros: juice, vegan baked goods, vegan proteins

LOVE this place !!!! - Edit

I have been here at least 5 times and every time I am greeted by smiles and friendly energy!!!

Vegan wise, there are nice breakfast options like fresh juices and smoothies and ... get ready: a VEGAN croissant!! wooohooo!!! :) AND they make a nice almond milk cappuccino to go with it, so I could dunk like the locals :D

For lunch, they have a nice vegan wrap with hummus, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach and quinoa! I believe there is a salad version of that too.

To summarize: Eat, drink and be merry there my fellow vegans!! :D

Pros: delicious vegan options!, very friendly staff :D, very reasonable pricing
