Great vegan options

A life saver for a vegan, I had the brown rice with teriyaki tofu and it was great!

Good smoothie bowl but bland tempeh dish

Appreciated the many options (many of which looked amazing) but we were disappointed by the tempeh rendition of eggs benedict - it basically had no flavor. When we added hot sauce, it improved. However, the banana smoothie bowl was very good!

Delicious food

The small restaurant has a beautiful location, and the food is excellent. We stayed in Krabi for six days and ate there every day. A lovely selection ranging from bowls and smoothies to burgers with homemade buns.
Everything was simply delicious.

Chaotic service, good offer

It seems a bit messy organized, things come in random orders and mealss not together. The selection is great, we had a breakfast bowl with fresh fruits and a breakfast platter. The bowl was generous and fresh, the breakfast platter okeyish, the beans were not well cooked (decided to not eat thme) and the scrambled tofu a bit bland. Would be great if they would offer some more simple, cheap things such as toast with jam -

Pros: Selectiom, Location

Cons: Chaotic service

Solid Option

Good choices, nice place, decent location. Service was slow, portion sizes were small and it’s no bargain!

Beachside vegan food!

Good food, although the portion sizes could be a little larger for their price it's a nice spot and most accessible vegan restaurant in Ao Nang

Sehr lecker, bunt, frisch abwechslungsreich

Good but not great

Shaka has a few locations around Asia and we loved the Bohol, Philippines one! Unfortunately this location has smaller portions and is a bit under seasoned. The tempeh bowl especially was disappointing and only had a few small pieces of tempeh. We loved the vibe and friendly staff, but we’re still hungry after our meal.

Not worthy

The plates are beautiful and the staff is really kind, but under my opinion the plates are really overpriced and the portions are really small.

My gf ordered an açai bowl (bom dia 2.0) and it was a mixed berries smothie without açai flavour, I ordered a Grilled mushroom and vegetable rice bowl with tempeh and it was nice but it only had 2 small pieces of tempeh, I asked If I could buy more protein because it wasn’t enough and they kindly offered me giving me one more portion for free, but still was a very small portion, especially when the prices here are at least 2 times what they cost elsewhere.

Amazing

Wonderful vegan restaurant right along the beach. Owner has few locations in other areas/countries I believe. We loved the pancakes and wraps/sandwiches. They have a nice coffee/smoothie bowl breakfast deal as well

My favourite place in Thailand so far

Amazing food, the Mexican burger was my favourite so much so I’m going back later to try the pasta in cheese sauce and mushrooms. It’s great knowing I can order anything from the menu

Pros: Taste!, Taste! , Being able to eat anything from menu

Completely vegan beachfront place

One of the few completely vegan options in Ao Nang in a great beachfront location. Extensive menu and the dishes are served very nicely. I had the pancakes, unfortunately one was a bit burnt. My husband had the jackfruit burger. Very friendly staff. You can't tell from the outside of the location that Shaka is completely vegan.

Pros: Completely vegan, Beachfront , Friendly staff

Not that good..

We first ordered kebab, but they didn’t have it anymore, so we ordered Lasagna, and they told us it was ‘t there anymore again, she said: do you want a wrap? Hm.. ok. I took that and my boyfriend had the no-fish burger.

We wanted to order a drink, fresh fruit juice, but it wasn’t there, ok, than the passion fruit soda.

The food was ok, but not that great. It missed flavor.
It didn’t feel like the people working there had a good time, the music was very loud as well. You couldn’t have a decent conversation.

Overall we would not eat there again. The experience and the food could definitely be better.

Pros: Vegan place in the middle of the town

Cons: They were run out multiple dishes , The atmosphere, The food quality

Bag of mixed feelings

We went there several times to have coffee, breakfast and lunch.

Coffee (hot and iced) was always very good and tasted probably the best on the third day.

Breakfast was beautifully arranged and was super filling. We had two different smoothie bowls. The green bowl with kale was a bit underwhelming because of its bland taste. The smoothie part was close to freezing temperature and not easy to eat.

A day later we had a burger and a tempeh wrap. They were out of sautéed mushroom that day, which we originally ordered. Portions were not that big, but the fries were tasty and the dips (tomato sugo and garlic tahini) were good. The burger bun was stale and not toasted properly.

On our last day we had the big brekkie which was totally underwhelming. First, they were out of baçon and didn’t tell us that they substituted with tempeh. Everything was a bit bland, especially the baked beans, which came right of the can onto the plate. The falafel hummus wrap we ordered came without falafel or hummus.

Service is ok, although sometimes slow. One time they forgot to bring our coffees. Prices are ok-ish, but you get to sit right by the beach and can watch people queuing for the long tail boats!

Keep in mind that they opened just recently (mid Jan ‘24)

Pros: Location! , Coffee , Beautiful smoothie bowls

Cons: Mix-ups , Substitutions without asking
