Visited here for the first time today and tried the vegan duck poke bowl. I’m not normally a fan of imitation meats but this duck was gorgeous and worked so well with the rest of the poke bowl. I also grabbed a brownie to take home with me which was delicious and baked in house! The atmosphere was lovely and welcoming which was a big bonus

Lovely places neatly tucked away in a basement. I wasn’t very hungry so just had some cake and began ice cream. Wife had a delicious vegan duck poke bowl. Service was very prompt despite the small kitchen and service was incredibly friendly. Most food is vegan and no extra charge for dairy free milks

We had the vegan ch*cken tacos and the lemon & pea bites. Both were very tasty and I'd reccomend. There were a couple of vegan options on the menu to choose from. There was also a couple of vegan cakes too. The staff were absolutely lovely and the place has a nice vibe.

We enjoyed our meal here. I was sad to have missed breakfast as I wanted the vegan French toast. Didn’t rewllly fancy a poke bowl though the chik’n one my husband had was nice. I had a brownie instead which was lovely.

One of the best cafes I have visited in a long, long time. Very friendly staff, great vibe and excellent vegan options. We shared a bakewell streusel and an apple and blackberry slice, which were absolutely delicious. We also got an Americano and a decaf soya latte that were spot on too 👍. If I lived in Scarborough, I would be here all the time. Can't wait to visit again.

Absolutely amazing cafe. We were on holiday and visited for lunch. We had chik'n poké bowls which were amazing and the toddler had a kids katsu curry. We took home a slice of Bakewell streusel and it was fabulous.

The cafe serves pescatarian and vegan meals so there is something for everyone.
Great selection of drinks and vegan cakes. Games and mini Tetris/PAC man which kept the toddler entertained. Cannot recommend this place enough.

I don't get to visit Sha-Ka often but it's always great when I go. This time I had the vegan poke bowl and it made a very filling healthy lunch, with brown rice, edamame, various veg, vegan chick'n and a ponzu dressing. The chickun was marinated in lovely spices. Perfection. Very friendly and speedy service, close to the train station as well.

Ate here with my brother and Dad and we were pleased there were tables outside where we could sit with our dog. The staff brought over a bowl of water and a few dog biscuits! The food was great- I had poke bowl which was lovely and my family both had a “I can’t believe it is not meat” burger, one with the avo extra. All 3 meals were much enjoyed. Lovely staff, a great place to find.

Sha-ka is located ten minutes away from the beach in the town centre, nestled down a street of eateries.
Read moreWe had a plant based burger with fries each. The burger was great and was a real treat.
They also served a lovely hot chocolate which was also available as vegan with a choice of oat or soya milk.
The owners were really lovely and friendly.. Sha-ka has a quirky interior which makes this eatery really unique.
Can't wait to visit again, hopefully next time we'll have room to sample some of the vegan cakes!

I wish I could give this place 5* but can only give 5* for fully vegan places but this place blew my mind! The lady that bakes the cakes said she can handle all dietary requirements with advance notice! My girlfriend is vegan and gf so that was welcomed news. The vegan burger was well worth a try will be coming back soon to try there other treats!
