Stopped in for a cocktail and appetizer before going next door to Double Zero for pizza. Nice happy hour deals, good drinks and delicious arancini! Service was attentive and friendly.

Terrible service, great food! - Edit
The service was absolutely miserable!!! We sat with empty water glasses on a 90 degree day. The waiters seemed so unhappy, never smiled or seemed grateful for our business. Made no conversation or checked if our food was ok. They forgot to bring a alcoholic drink we ordered… one of us had to get up to go and find out what was happening.

A must for a soy boy in nyc - Edit
Split 4 pasta dishes and a salad with some friends and everything was amazing. Some of the best vegan food I’ve had period, and it’s always nice to find the occasional upscale restaurant vs a takeout focused cafe. The kale pesto and truffle pastas are both a must try.

Take your date here!! - Edit
The vibe, the setting, the music was lovely!! The truffle was not all that, a bit bland for me. But my gf let me have her shells which were amazing!! Overall a beautiful choice for a date, very intimate setting and beautiful atmosphere

Absolutely delicious- blown away! - Edit
We went here for Valentine’s Day and I absolutely LOVED the vodka shells- they were the star of the show! So delicious, a must get. My husband got the Truffle pasta and he said it was okay but he wasn’t blown away. He ended up eating my Vodka Shells with me because he was obsessed ! The garlic bread was also INCREDIBLE. best I’ve ever had ! amazing place and the atmosphere was awesome

Great pasta and lively atmosphere - Edit
Went on a Saturday night and it was very lively and loud. Compact place. They had around 8 or so pastas and some other sides and appetisers (like arancini).

Pasta Galore - Edit
Another sister restaurant (of Double Zero) Chef Matthew Kenny created that has pasta galore. The menu pretty much has a set price per pasta at $18. I went with the spicy Rigatoni Arrabiata paired with a Chianti Classico. Also, had some garlic bread that the waitress sneaky-sneaky up-sold me on. LOL! Overall, bouj-waa ambience like Double Zero (inside). I do photography as a hobby (IG @rf.photographs) so me posting this pics is, what the kids say, "cringe AF!" Lol I sat outside under a heat lamp so I had to take a pic w/o flash and it would of been all red or with flash to show some color. 📸🍝😣

Come for brunch! - Edit
Had brunch here and ordered the arancini, mushroom ragout malfadine, smokey sugo radiatori, limoncello waffles, and chocolate hazelnut budino. Other than the arancini—I've had better elsewhere—everything was delicious. All pasta was made fresh in house and the difference is like night and day compared to regular premade pasta. We especially liked the mushroom ragout pasta and the waffles. These waffles though...yummmm! They're a brunch only item so I'd highly recommend coming for brunch.

Great service & esthetic! A little pricy / fancy but it’s worth it to get dressed up with your significant other or a group of friend and enjoy some organic vegan Italian food!

Delicious food - Edit
Another Matthew Kenney winner, this restaurant features freshly made pasta. We sat indoors with a nice view of the outdoor tables and street. Started with a blonde beer and an amazing tangy and crisp Caesar salad. Main course was Pasta “ vongole” which is made of black pepper pasta, shiitake “clams” sadhu white wine and chili peppers. Pasta may have been a little too al dente but flavor was great. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu and another Caesar salad.

Very good, not great - Edit
Very good, but just on the expensive side. Not sure if its worth the price (personally). I'd rather go to Bar Verde or Double Zero (both next door to Sestina). Out of the three dishes we ordered (arancini, truffle tagliatelle, and spaghetti vongole) the arancini was definitely the best. Both the pasta dishes were just pretty good- and weren't worth the price tag IMO.

Superb vegan Italian cuisine - Edit
We love quality Italian cuisine but it’s been hard to find vegan restaurants which deliver fresh Italian with the right balance between faith in essential elements of traditional recipes and creativity. Sestina manages this well. We’ve been twice and love the staff who are warm, professional, and attentive. Highly recommend this gem.

Another home run for Matthew Kenney - Edit
What can I say? Top-of-the-line Matthew Kenney cuisine (and that is saying something). Simple, tasty, vegan takes on classic Italian dishes. House-made cheeses and pastas. Off beat items like socca. A nice wine & cocktail list. A few, devastatingly scrumptious desserts. Go now and enjoy the lovely outdoor seating.

Blown away - Edit
A new vegan gem in nyc. I was really impressed by each dish we got. The casarecce (wild mushroom and truffle dish) and pistachio pesto stood out the most. However, there wasn’t a dish I wouldn’t order again.
Read moreI typically am not a big sweets person but my partner and I decided to try a desert- Torta della Nonna and I truly cannot recommend it enough. I can’t wait to go back.
The look and feel of the restaurant definitely also stands out. I would love to come back here post covid with non vegan friends to impress them.

Amazing food and service! - Edit
It’s relatively new so when I went my date and I were the only ones there. I ordered a salad, market vegetables, rigatoni, we were given brioche and cheese on the house while we waited, and finally I had the single most delicious vegan dessert I have had, the Lemon Torta.
Read moreSalad was fantastic!
Market vegetables nearly made me cry.
I can’t believe they brought the bread, cheese, and tapenade. It is seriously a highlight I believe.
The Rigatoni was on the mark and very delicious.
I cannot begin to explain how phenomenal the lemon Torta tasted. I am grateful for the experience and will be going back.
My date said the spaghetti was good, but not amazing. Loved everything else we had!
Pros: Extensive menu, Matthew Kenney
