Massive portions - Edit

I went to SeraBar twice during my stay on the Gold Coast. The first time I had the deconstructed burrito bowl, which was very tasty and had all the elements of a great bowl. The serving size was massive, which usually is good, but too much food can also take away from the experience.

The second time I had the pancakes with fruit, vanilla cashew cream and chocolate sauce, and it was delicious! Again though, the portion was huge, and I couldn't finish it all, and I am known to finish all my meals so that says a lot!

The cafe lacked ambience the first time I went, with no music playing and the vibes a bit low but the second time music was playing. I think your experience of the cafe really depends on the day that you visit.

Pros: All vegan, Tasty pancakes

Cons: Portion sizes are too big, Cafe sometimes lacks ambience

average but getting better - Edit

Been here a few times, it’s nice that they’re all vegan but the food is pretty plain/bland. I haven’t had anything here that I didn’t think I could make better at home. Having said that I do think the food is improving so I might give it another 6 months or so before I try again. The people that work here are very friendly, however of the 4 times we’ve been we’ve either been overcharged or had meals completely forgotten about every single time. I want them to be good cause it’s in a great spot. Will give them another chance as I think it has potential. The prices don’t really match the quality of the food unfortunately.

Pros: good spot, all vegan, friendly staff

Cons: expensive for what it is

yay for Burleigh Heads! - Edit

Nice to step off the beach and eat healthy!!
Went back a second time and it’s definitely a favourite, the Mediterranean platter was AMAZING!! I couldn’t resist the peanut butter cheese cake, nice toppings but too have on the dates in the base, just my taste.
On my first visit I had the mushroom burger was delicious - big, juicy, full of flavours and filling. I chased it down with a banana-almond cupcake, a little dry but nice.
Still haven’t tried their famed chocolate brownie as they seem to be continually sold out, must be that good!

Pros: a solid menu range to suit many tastes

Very disappointing to receive unfresh food - Edit

I came to SeraBar with high expectations of delicious, fresh, vegan food. I couldn’t have been more disappointed. While the coffee was lovely, and the staff were friendly, these were the only positives of the experience. We ordered loaded fries and bim bim bap bowls. The fries came with hardly any sauce, ‘salsa’ that was huge chunks of tomato and onion and guacamole that was clearly off and brown. More disappointing were the bowls, which you would expect to be beautiful and fresh. However, the corn was not warmed properly, and was past being fresh, the tofu tasted off, the rice seemed very old and the carrot was chalky and obviously cut a long time ago. I am a vegan local who would come regularly to a place like this if the food quality was better.

Cons: Food not fresh

Nice Cafe - Edit

Being a no thrills sort of outdoor eater, this place typically wouldn't be my primary choice. But I was pleasantly surprised.

I ordered a soy flat, bagel sandwich and desert brownie. I could not find fault in the coffee. The barista knew her trade well. The bagel was probably a bit fancier than I'm used to, but again, the product was satisfying.

Finally, as a vegan, brownies are typically off the menu. But these vegan brownies were ten out of ten. Nice one.

If I weren't just another tourist, this place would be my weekend spot.

Pros: Inexpensive, Excellent coffee, Brownies are yum

Good atmosphere but disappointed by the food - Edit

This nice little café/restaurant is well located, close to the beach and has a large menu of vegan breakfast, lunch, desserts and coffees. We tried the Vegan benny, the mushroom burger and the soy cappuccino.
As much as the food looked great, the taste wasn't quite there. It tasted very plain, not very fresh and the portions were not that large for the price. It was decent, but I don't think I will go back.

Pros: Good atmosphere

Cons: Plain, Not so fresh

Going Fully Vegan - Edit

Fabulous breakfast which included mushrooms, kale, tofu strips, tomato, avocado, toast and more. The juice was good but a bit overloaded with ice. The big coffee was great. Highly recommended and they told me they will be fully vegan on 28th July 2017 !!

Pros: Going fully vegan, Friendly staff

Amazing vegan options!!! - Edit

Sera Bar is vegetarian but has tonnes of vegan options, desserts and smoothies! The falafel burger is one of the best I've had. The prices are great for the Burleigh area, it's family run making them extra welcoming and the service was perfect. The moment this place goes fully vegan i will edit my review to 5 stars!!!

Pros: Excellent quality service , Friday and Saturday Nights,BYO!, Beautiful food and drinks

Cons: Could be open evenings throughout the week?
