Simply the best - Edit

This establishment has made going vegan so easy for my wife and I. The food is to die for, plenty of amazing healthy mock options, huge portion sizes and even better flavours. We come here often and highly recommend this place to vegans and non vegans.

Pros: Large Portions, Good Price, Great Taste

Great vegan restaurant. - Edit

Entirely vegan chinese/asian style casual restaurant and takeaway. Lots of yummy entrees such as nuggets, veggie balls, spring rolls and drumsticks. Delicious mains from laksa soups, satays and stir frys.
Good prices and friendly staff.

Pros: Completely vegan ☺

Cons: No alcohol or BYO.

good north side choice - Edit

I've only been here once as I barely ever go to the North Side. I remember it being a good place to go with many great choices. Would visit again.

Pros: nice food, cheap

Highly Recommended - Edit

Everything I tasted on my visit to September 18 was delicious, especially the dumpling laksa. I'm not usually someone who orders soup but I'm glad I went a little out of my usual comfort zone because the broth in particular was amazing. The rotis are also definitely worth mentioning (and drooling over).
The service itself was friendly and surprisingly fast considering there seemed to be only one person working at the time. I was happy to see there was a steady flow of guests and everyone seemed very happy to be there.
My one and only constructive criticism of the place would be that (to me) it seemed to lack a certain 'atmosphere', for lack of a better word, that would truly make it a five star restaurant to me, but that really does come down to personal opinion I think, and hardly matters when you have a delicious bowl of food in front of you.
All in all, I will definitely be eating there again and I recommend September 18 to anyone who has the chance to visit.

Lovely vegan Malaysian style - Edit

Love September 18! It's great to be able to get a dumpling laksa, crispy spring rolls or 'chicken' satay with no worries about hidden non-vegan ingredients in the recipe!
Large portion sizes, lots of fresh veges, nice homemade drinks selection. The staff are lovely and very helpful too :) It's definitely worth heading out to even if it's a drive.

nice casual spot with yummy food - Edit

I was so excited to have dumplings and wontons! I thought I'd pretty much said goodbye to these foods since going vegan lol but here they are and DELICIOUS! We ordered a lot of dishes but the servings are quite big so we could've settled down there. Really looking forward to going down from the sunny coast for another visit :)

A healthy take on Chinese-Malaysian cuisine - Edit

This is not the kind of place you should visit if you want every dish to blow you away with strong flavours, such as Szechuan pepper or Ma Po sauce.

September 18 serves vegan Malaysian Chinese dishes with a clean, low-oil, 'healthy' feel. Portions are relatively large and are worth the money, though this is not the place to come to for a hit of protein: even our tofu-based dishes had very little tofu in them

Those expecting an Asian flavour hit should try elsewhere. Our dinner left us full but devoid of any delicious aftertaste. The huge chicken drumsticks, made out of tofu skin, did look fantastic, though.

Pros: Clean taste, Healthy, Limited menu

Cons: Bland flavours, Price

The north side is so lucky to have September 18. KK and his family are so lovely and the food is wonderful! I travel from the sunshine coast regularly for the drumsticks alone :)

Amazing! - Edit

Dined here for the first time last night. Enjoyed the fried wontons and the veggie ball laksa. Both were absolutely amazing!
A well priced menu with a lot of great options. I'm not a fan of mock meats and was very happy to see heaps of options using just tofu or veggies! A Super filling meal and well portioned.

Pros: Options available , Meal size , Value

Delicious Vego / Great hospitality - Edit

We stopped in to September 18 on our way home from North Lakes last week for the first time having lived in the Moreton Bay region for over a year. Can't believe we haven't been here before!

The food was great - we ordered Laksa & sweet and sour nuggets, deep fried mushrooms and steam buns. I will definitely be getting the Laksa again and same goes for the others - though now we need to try every other menu item! tough choices ahead!

Service was excellent - owner is very friendly and happy to have a chat.

Will definitely take my friends there.

Pros: Beautiful, delicious food, friendly staff, cruelty free

Delightful Northlakes gem! - Edit

Brilliant food, friendly service, and one of a kind in the North. We had the steam buns (so delish), the fried wontons (amazing) and the crumbed chicken drumsticks (rocked our world). They also do fresh juice and lychee drinks, etc. We'll be back!

Lovely service and great meals! - Edit

I went to September 18 for the first time on September 18th. Despite being 36km from my place, it was well worth the drive! One I'll happily make again. A group of us vegans went and everyone ordered different meals. Everyone really loved what they ordered. I just had a vege curry which was delicious. I also tried a rice paper roll from a friend's entree as well as a dumpling from the laksa dish. Yummmmm. I noticed there were a few faux meat dishes on the menu which aren't really my cup of tea but others had them and enjoyed them. The manager and his parents chatted with us afterwards, such lovely people. A wonderful place for a meal! :)

Pros: All vegan dishes , Kind service

Every dish is delicious, the service is fantastic, the owners are the most gracious people, make you feel so welcome and the atmosphere is always nice. Would highly recommend to vegans and non vegans alike, we have taken non vegan family members and they have loved it as well!

September 18 ♥ - Edit

We went to September 18 for lunch today for the first time as it only opened last week. We both had spring rolls for entree and they were homemade and delicious. My husband had Dumpling Laksa and I had Nasi Lemak for mains. The balance of flavours were just perfect. We were given little hand made crispy seaweed noodles to nibble on while we were waiting for our food to be made. The food at September 18 is freshly made including the curry sauces and pastes. Everything on the menu is vegan ♥ and the service was outstanding. The owners were extremely friendly and ready to talk to you about the menu and their business. They have successfully run another September 18 in Wellington NZ for 15 years and we are so fortunate for them now to be here for us in Australia. They are open 7 days a week 11 am - 9pm. It is at North Lakes left off Anzac Avenue onto Discovery Drive then just after, I hate to say it Maccas on the left then it is upstairs. There is a car park underneath. Please go and see for yourselves and support this wonderful new vegan business. Even if you are not vegan I am sure you will love September 18 as much as we did.

Pros: everything is vegan, exceptional friendly service, very resonably priced

Cons: absolutely nothing

Cosmic Illusion 19 Aug 2014 - Okay I've lived in Wellington NZ for the past 5 years as a vegan and I know all the vegan/veggie restaurants and veg friendly places here - and there ain't many. I have NEVER come across September 18 in Wellington, nor heard any of the veg community here talking about it. Not saying they haven't run a vegan restaurant in Welly but it can't have been recently. If anyone knows for sure they have a branch in Welly please let us know.
