Good vegan food - Edit

The food served here is good. We had a risotto and Pasta and some kind of chocolate balls in vegan milk. The taste of all was good, and the food was presented very nicely. The service was also good. Made the booking through TheFork.

Pros: Vegan choices, Nice Ambience

Cons: Not completely vegan, so one needs to take care, A bit on the pricier side

a restaurant's reach probably shouldn't exceed its grasp - Edit

Sense Eat is a beautiful space with almost beautiful food. Long time to get attention. My stunningly arranged fresh instalata inexplicably arrived with an old bowl of cut-up browning endive to the side. I didn't take the mains for fear of not enough room in my dessert stomach - how glad I was! I ordered Sfere al gianduia, three chocolate truffle bombs that blew the subtle fennel ice cream off the plate! Delicious chocolate drenching sauce that really needed some kind of fresh contrast. As a registered chocoholic I was completely overcome - no more chic for at least two days! Go with rich relatives and hope they put a vegan choice on the menu of the day

The best - Edit

For me, this place is hands down the best vegetarian and vegan restaurant in Paris.

Seasonal vegetables and grains cooked by someone who knows what they're doing, and knows how to season.

Stylish setting, professional and kind staff.

Pros: flavour flavour flavour, quality ingredients, creative

Cons: Expensive

Good and expensive - Edit

Very good vegan and vegetarian food, gluten free if you need. But it's a little expensive and the waiters are antipathetic...

Pros: Good food, Lot of choice

Cons: Expensive, Waiters

Excellent and Stylish - Edit

Go early if you haven't made a booking. My partner and I visited on Easter Saturday and just managed to get a table downstairs.
Very helpful, professional and friendly staff. Our waiter spoke perfect English which was an added bonus.
The food was exquisitely presented and sublime. The vegan dishes are clearly marked, also marked are those dishes which could be veganised.
This is a DEFINITE on our next visit!

Generally happy - Edit

Firstly, the vegan options were very clearly marked, so I guess that they've updated their menu since the complaints about this below.

One of those places where you wished Happy Cow had a 3.5 option: it's somewhere in between fair and very good. The staff were great, there were some vegan options and yes there could probably be a couple more, the food was good but the portions were very small. It's expensive, but what isn't in that neighbourhood?

Pros: Nice food, Friendly staff

Cons: Small portions, Cost

Well-presented, friendly and efficient - Edit

Classy Italian place, with really well-presented dishes. Friendly and efficient atmosphere, and lots of really nice flavours. It was a good sign when they served a little starting-taste of creamed sweet potato garnished with wafer-thin slices of yellow beetroot - delicious flavour, expertly done.

Fantastic food! - Edit

Might have been one of the best non-exclusively vegan restaurants I've been in Paris. The food was delicious. They were super busy though and only had one waiter at the time I was there, so it took more than a while to be served. The chef did send me a little treat as I waited.

Delicious Gourmet Dinner - Edit

I ate here with two omni but vegan-enjoying friends and we all remarked on it being one of the best if not the best dining experience we've had in Paris. Sense Eat is vegetarian rather than vegan, but there were enough vegan options on the menu for me to find more than a few things I wanted to try (hence I'll need to go back at least a couple more times!). The food was a cut above, and complemented our wine quite nicely. The atmosphere is relaxing and elegant, and the staff friendly. My only quibble would be that an enhanced menu scheme would help make the vegan options easier to find. If Sense Eat were to go totally vegan, it would likely be my favorite restaurant in Paris for fine dining.

Pros: Delicious , beautiful and engaging setting , friendly staff

Cons: Vegan options should be more clearly noted

Amazing experience but need more vegan options! - Edit

Besides the fact that the restaurant is not 100% vegan and that vegan options are not clearly marked, this place provides an amazing dining experience. The place is really pleasant, centrally located and the staff were professional (which is rarely the case in veggie restaurants). We asked for vegan options and chose among several dishes. Every dish was very original, with many flavours. We were quite impressed by this innovativeness. From starter to dessert, it was a succession of pleasure. Unfortunately, we find that portions were quite small. On the whole, the experience is a bit expensive because of the location but it definitely worth it. I also hope they will develop their vegan options more and more.

Pros: very fine cuisine, vegan dishes, central location, friendly and professional staff, pleasant place

Cons: pricey, small portions , vegan options not clearly marked

Disappointing - Edit

This is probably a nice place if you're vegetarian, but as a vegan I found eating here to be a frustrating experience.

The menu has vegan items, but they are not marked and it's hard to guess from the (Italian) dish names and description which ones might be vegan. The waitress was friendly and helpful, and pointed out which items were vegan, but since the menu has several pages it was hard to remember which ones were the ones we could order.

I ended up getting quinoa-crusted tofu with a citrusy sauce, and sadly when it arrived it was very small and exceptionally unflavorful. I'm a light eater, but I left the restaurant fairly hungry.

Interestingly enough, before the main dish we were given an amuse-bouche which itself was very tasty. So I'm not sure how this tofu dish turned out so disappointing.

One of my dining companions ordered a dish made up of cubes of various vegetables. It was very appealing, aesthetically, but apparently also lacked flavor.

A vegan friend of mine who ate here a few weeks before me said it was really good, so maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes, but this isn't a place I would recommend.

I really hope that the restaurant will at least add something to identify the vegan options on their menu.

Pros: friendly staff, nice ambiance

Cons: vegan items not marked on menu, small portions, bland food

Fine Lunching in Paris - Edit

We visited Sense Eat for a lunch while on a 3-day visit to Paris.

The restaurant is a vegetarian Italian restaurant, but offers a couple of vegan options in starters and mains (e.g. tofu in crusty quinoa, pasta in tomato sauce with aubergine).

As in most fine restaurants, we found portions to be small & a bit more pricey than in other vegan restaurants we visited (not by a lot though).

If you're up for a hearty meal or on a budget, this might not be the place for you, but if you want to taste gourmet vegan food - go for it!

The staff is extremely friendly and the atmosphere is very nice.

Bonus: you get AMAZING complimentary bread!

Pros: Atmosphere, Staff, Complimentary bread

Cons: Pricey, Portion size

Great for vegetarians, ok for vegans - Edit

Visited in September 2016. It all started when I noticed that Sense Eat doesn't label the vegan options in the menu. So, it's necessary to ask the staff which plates are vegan-friendly. That's already a bummer, considering the place is a HappyCow friend. They offer a daily lunch set (appetizer+main or main+dessert) for €19, which is a good value, given that the plates in the regular menu cost about the same (even appetizers cost above €15). You can choose from 3 appetizers; 3 mains and any of the desserts they have in the regular menu. On this particular day, from the lunch set, 1 appetizer and 2 mains were vegan. In the regular menu, many appetizers are vegan; and there are about 4 vegan mains (according to the staff, some vegetarian plates are veganizable). The first disappointment came when we realized that the only vegan dessert they have is some kind of strawberry salad with a sorbet. Perhaps it's delicious; but to me it showed how friendly toward vegans they are. The food we had was alright, nothing great. Portions were also small, so having the appetizer+main set is a good idea. Having said that, I noticed that main plates from the regular menu seemed to have larger portions; and seemed to be more interesting (but just a little bit). I also noticed that vegetarian plates being served to other customers looked better; so I can understand why vegetarian reviews are very positive. The service was good: and the atmosphere was also pleasant. To sum up, I think if you are a vegetarian, you'd probably like it; but, as a vegan, they could show more interest to cater for vegan customers.
Sense Eat wouldn't be on my to-go list in Paris; but if you do go, I'd recommend choosing plates from the regular menu.

Pros: location, atmosphere

Cons: no vegan labels, portions

Delicious - Edit

It wasn't busy when we went in but had seen it on here and thought we would try it out. A little pricey, but we're only on a student budget. Absolutely devious pastas, and plenty of vegan options, and a gluten free pasta option!

Pros: Taste, Variety, Location

Cons: Price
