small restaurant great food

lovely chef, she automatically in english asked if we were vegan/vego etc. great food, although hard to tell what each flavour was (no menu or explanation).

note: tables are for two, there isn’t room for extra seats so larger parties will sit separately.

Really good gyoza

We asked for vegetarian on the way in and were served the gyoza. They were tasty and good amount of filling. I didnt ask as to what was in the dumpling sauce but just opted to dip them in the table soy sauce instead.

Good for a quick light meal or snack.

The owner was really sweet also.

Pros: Tasty

Cons: The dumpling sauce may not be veg

Not the best😒

I had such high hopes for this place, it being so highly rated. The service was fine and the owner was very sweet. She served us dumplings and some stir fried seaweed. The seaweed was very good but the dumplings were very bland. I think it depends on the day what she puts in them, but we couldn’t choose what kind of dumplings, she just gives them to you. Wouldn’t recommend unless you can’t find anything else to eat.

Great gyoza options for vegetarians

The nice lady speaks good English. The place is very small, so it’s not great for bigger groups. However you may take the food with you, which was the option for us. The dumplings were very good and we’re happy we finally got to eat vegetarian gyozas, which seems to find elsewhere.

Sweetest Grandma Ever!

She spoke perfect English, and asked about dietary restrictions right away. Even when serving the food, she writes down all ingredients in the gyoza so you know exactly what you are eating. She even gave me an extra gyoza, just cause!

Pros: Variety in Gyoza

Six stars

Wonderful, delicious gyozas, made by two super sweet women. We went there twice as it was so good.

On this app, as one of the cons I read that the host lady decides for you what and how much you eat. To clarify: the first has to do with availability of vegetables, the second is to avoid waste.

The host initially decided on 10 dumplings for my partner and 8 for me. I’m a big eater, so I asked for 10 as well, but she said: “No. You get 8.” I just went along with it out of politeness. Then, we got 11/9 dumplings, and what we got was so good that we ordered another round (of 6 each). She was a bit surprised but also happy with the extra order of course. (And we got 8 each.) So… if you are still hungry after a meal, just order more.

When we came back, we were greeted like friends. This time, there was no question as to what we were able to eat 😆 So I’d advice everyone going there to just go along with it. It’s such a quirky, lovely place with authentic charm.

App won’t let me give it five stars!

Tiny restaurant with the loveliest chef! Tell her your dietary requirements and she’ll give you a huge variety of dumplings (we got 8 and 12 each and we each got 7 different filling flavours each). Such a fun experience and GREAT food!

Pros: Food is great, Dumpling flavours dependent on the day!

Cons: Only seats six!

Easy and Yummy

Very friendly owner, she speaks enough English for easy conversation and asked if we wanted meat/vegetarian/vegan. We had some delicious and colourful vegan gyoza.

Incredible, must visit

Went with a large group (6 people) the owner set up a table for us outside because the inside was too small! She even poured soy sauce on our dumplings and was so nice.

I would describe the host as invincible. 100% invincible.

If you are in the area, even if you’re not, you gotta come to this place.

Very reasonable pricing too!

Be aware for large groups, it is a small space.

It is also cash only.

Pros: Invincible host, Amazing food, Great pricing

Quick and easy

The Tawainese owner was friendly and asked us if we were vegan, vegetarian or ate meat. Small hole in the wall restaurant. She brought out a selection of handmade fried vegan gyoza which we enjoyed! No other drinks except water available and no toilet.

Good Taiwanese dumplings!

This small place is run by a nice Taiwanese lady who speaks English and understands what vegan means. I ordered the dumpling set which was so colorful and yummy! The interior is nothing special but it’s good for a quick bite.

Vegan Taiwanese Gyoza

Really excellent Taiwanese gyoza. We stopped by at a very odd time, and we weren't even sure if the shop was open or not, but the very friendly lady working there welcomed us and got to work making our gyoza immediately. It was just a bit oily for my personal taste, but very delicious nevertheless!

Great take-out option

Finally got to try the vegan dumplings here! The women who work here were very easy to talk to and order from, 750 yen for takeout dumplings to fill 1 person. Very satisfied and fast service!

unlucky day

sometimes with less ingredients and colours depending on availability and the season...
6 pieces for 748 yen, 10 pieces for 1320 yen, which sounds rather expensive, but each dumpling is so much bigger than a typical Japanese gyoza

The most hole in the wall place

So you know it’s good. Run by one little old lady with a tiny kitchen attached to a glorified hallway for seating, you can get a huge number of gyoza for a really good price. If you’re a foreigner and you walk in she’ll know you’re there for the vegan gyoza, so no worries to anyone who doesn’t speak Japanese, but if you do she’s super chatty and entertaining. There are also lots of interesting gyoza flavors that seem to be accidentally vegan (spinach, beet etc) but I haven’t tried yet because I have always been excited to get more of the original flavor.
