Great food but strange service - Edit
The food is really good and reasonably priced. However the waitress told us when she brought the bill that we had to pay cash so I had to go outside to draw money for the first time since 2019. Then once we had the cash ready she brought a separate bill and explained we would have to pay the first amount if paying by card but got a discount for paying by cash. This was not at all what she said to begin with and meant I didn't actually have to go outside to use an ATM. Being misled like this leaves a very bad taste in the mouth.

Pros: Food, Ambience
Cons: Bait and switch with bill

Oh that sounds a bit dodgy. What sort of discount was it? Was it the size of a card payment fee or of a VAT?

Perhaps £5 on a 70 ish bill. It was very strange and by that point we just wanted to get out of there.

Cute Little restaurant - Edit
I went for lunch with a friend and I really liked this fully vegan restaurant. The young lady serving us was very friendly and the food was great, it was very filling so we ended up only trying one appetizer to share and one main each.
Read moreThe starter was a plate of salt and pepper fried mushrooms with a home made sauce which was delicious, the mushrooms were really big and the batter was seasoned so it was very good. The portion was good for 3 to share.
Then I had the green banana and tofu, which was kind of sweet, and very good, came with rice, again a very good portion size, it also had a nice vegan protein chunk. My friend had an aubergine and tofu dish, not sweet but very tasty (of course I had to try it!).
If I'm ever in the area again I would happily come back, the menu was full of interesting dishes.
Pros: Lots of choice, Great food, big portions

We got the presidential bun cha and it was lovely but wasn’t super full afterwards. Lots of great vegan options on the menu. BYO alcohol was available. Prices approx. £15 per main and £7-12 starter.

Incredible. - Edit
We went for tea yesterday. The staff are lovely and the food was delicious. What used to be a vegetarian restaurant has now turned vegan entirely. We had the sharing starter platter, the sweet and sour tofu main and a classic Vietnamese main. All fabulous, as was the coconut creamy drink.

Amazing choice, great food - Edit
Lovely little restaurant. Great choice. Everything we ate was amazing. We tried to book, but it's a Google forms that isn't monitored real time, so we just turned up and queued. Even on a Friday night we got in after a short queue. The crispy tofu was amazing. Presidential bun cha includes a spring roll so don't do what we did and get a spring roll starter too! The coconut mango drink is delicious. Tastes like lassi. And the deep fried ice cream was lovely.

Went for lunch on a Wednesday and was greeted by the lovely lady called Trang - Edit
She said we could sit anywhere so we sat in the window. I love the glass tables with the miniature Vietnamese village scenes under the glass, sets the scene.
Read moreSo good to look at a Vietnamese menu where everything is vegan 🌱 so no mistakes can be made.
I ordered the Caramelised Tofu and green banana in clay pot and my buddy ordered the presidential bun cha, was Delish.
I don’t think I’d ever had dessert in a Vietnamese restaurant before so we had the fried ice cream and Mango spring rolls and basically they were amazeballs
Everything is vegan but they are still in the vegetarian page of HappyCow. Probably hard to move the listing over with reviews etc etc
Been back loads since I did the above review. The whole menu is amazing & it’s in Shoreditch baby
What a lovely family run this place, Thao is amazing, support them as it’s ballsy to be 100% vegan.
The future is vegan 🌱

Tasty food, good service - Edit
Nice ambiance, good choice of dishes and good service. We ordered the house platter, lemongrass & chilli, grilled aubergine, and tofu green banana. Finished with a Vietnamese coffee, which took a long time to drip through, and was lukewarm by the time it was ready to drink! Everything else was very nice, though. The bill came to around £25 per head wth drinks (no alcohol). We plan to go again! This little corner of London seems to have lots of Vietnamese restaurants and cafés, as we passed a few on the way here!

Sen Viet is a fully vegan restaurant in hoxton, 120 kingsland road. It's a ten minute walk from old Street station too.
It was friendly and welcoming and it was starting to get pretty busy. I noticed lots of people seemed to be regular customers and were greeted as such which was sweet.
I came here with a friend who doesn't like mushrooms and honestly this is not necessarily the place for you if you also don't! I also asked clearly for no chilli and although they said no problem there was a kick to my main and the spring rolls. If they were premade sauces then I'd prefer to know and just order something else.
The crispy pancake I loved! Definitely order this it was fresh and filled with mushroom, fresh tofu and veg. It was really good, had I known it would be so big I would have actually just ordered this!
But I also ordered a main served with rice and the curry was good it said it was lemongrass but honestly I didn't really get that freshness it was more like a kind of katsu coconut curry sauce? It was tasty and the tofu was fresh and it was filled with bits of mushroom and veg. But the slight chilli kick meant I couldn't finish it at all.
Together it came to £33 for half of the crackers and the pancake and curry. But I also over ordered. Honestly, I would come back if I was around hoxton but I'd order very carefully if avoiding chilli!
Pros: Friendly service, Vegan and healthy options, Lots of options
Cons: Too spicy

Delicious food! - Edit
We were lucky that we were able to book a table with only a 30min notice :)! We went for the mustard leaf rolls as a starter, as main courses we chose the vegtable stir fry with tofu and rice noodles and the coconut curry with steamed rice. We both liked the starter and loved our main courses. The service was very friendly and impressively quick.
Read moreThe only two reasons, why I didn't rate 5 stars are that it was very busy, thus quite noisy and we felt a little bit squished in-between the other tables. We had to get from our chairs whenever the couple at the table next to us had to get up and move to the side when they got their drinks and food. Also, we were sat right next to the bathroom. Even though, the staff was very busy closing the bathroom door, guests constantly left it open, so that I had a really good front view of the urinal 😂 not the best table haha.
Pros: Delicious , Friendly staff , Quick
Cons: Noisy, Very busy

Instant favourite! - Edit
We absolutely loved this restaurant. We had the mixed platter to share as starters, then a pho and banana dish, all were amazing! Service was quick. The restaurant can feel a bit crammed when busy and is definitely a popular location so would advise booking! Prices can be a bit steep but the quality and flavour of the food definitely makes up for it.
