Delicious and so filling!! - Edit
I absolutely love Ethiopian food. This place is wonderful and our waiter was so lovely. He was just so polite. The food was super flavorful and it just had so many different textures (a good thing). My husband got the lentil samosas and enjoyed them (they are pretty tiny though). I can't wait to go again. Now I know what my favorites are! P.S The veggie special could feed 3 ppl. It's so much food!!

Loved the experience - Edit
Great staff; friendly and informative. Such a unique eating experience, eating with our hands (we didn’t get silverware until dessert!). It was a really cool experience. Will be back for the coffee ceremony!

Great service, delicious and plentiful vegan options - Edit
As a vegan, it isn't always easy to find options that are delicious or unique. That is not an issue with Selam Ethiopian; I had Selam's veggie special, which included a ton of incredible dishes. It was plenty for 2 people, and we went home with leftover fit fit to eat the next day! Aside from absolutely perfect food and cost-effectiveness, we had probably the best dining service we have had in a long time. A special thanks to Abraham, our courteous server, for making our experience special! They spoke with us about how this is a family owned business, and they went above and beyond to make us feel like a part of their family. I got to meet and talk with pretty much everyone that worked there, included Selam herself! From the coffee ceremony, to the knowledgeable conversation I had with the gentlemen that served us (we learned a lot about making injera and the teff grain!) I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. You will not be disappointed with the food, service, or experience!

For FL strip mall places, this place has a nice authentic feel. Easy to order vegan food here and the waiter was vegan savvy! Everything was delicious including the iced tea. Highly recommended!

Something different - Edit
Happy to finally try Ethiopian food. It was very different from anything I tried before. A little bit similar to Indian food, but special “bread” they use is very unique. Very friendly owners and cozy atmosphere inside. Would recommend for anyone who is looking for new flavors.

Delicious Food, but triple check order! - Edit
Glad to find this gem among the Orlando theme park madness. Excited for the vegan options, the Salam veggie special was flavorful and the bread was warm and moist. I also ordered the Shiro (pureed split peas) and it was very yummy if you like split pea. The gentleman was very attentive, even showed me how to properly eat the dishes :)
Read moreOnly disappointment is that I ordered 2 orders of the lentils (vegan) somosas but got the ones with meat...😒I must've said "the lentils one, ok?" 3 times but I guess they misunderstood. It was a takeout order so I didn't find out until after I got to the hotel to eat... So disappointed there, but hopefully will get to try the lentils one next time.

Worth Visiting - Edit
My first time eating Ethiopian food. The selam salad is delicious and the veggie combo was terrific. The bread, "injera" I believe, is made from teff with a fermentation process. Good stuff! No utensils with the veggie combo; you just tear off a chunk of bread and swipe, dab and scoop the veggies up. Prepare to get food all over your fingers!

The Veggie Combination platter is pretty authentic - Edit
The veggie combination platter is good for two people and contains eight delicious veggies with injera. All of the veggies are cooked separately from the meat options to avoid cross-contamination. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

Wow! - Edit
This was amazing! Really! We had never been to an Ethiopian restaurant so we weren’t sure what to expect. This was just incredible! We debated what to order because of the review about the excellent mushrooms but decided to try the veggie platter for two. Everything on that beautiful platter was delicious and each one different! I’m so glad we went that way. Just so good, everyone! If you are in Orlando, you really should go and try this place!

This place made me happy! - Edit
I check Happy Cow from time to time to see what is new in town and was pleasantly surprised to learn that there is now a second Ethiopian restaurant in Orlando! The service was friendly, the restaurant was lovely, the pricing was reasonable and the food was delicious. We ordered the veggie combination plate for 2 and loved the mushrooms so much that we added a full order of those. I received a nice coffee presentation at the end of the meal. They are open for breakfast, as well as lunch and dinner-I look forward to trying that sometime.
