SO GOOD. - Edit
My fiancé and I were in the city from out of town and I actually found this place on Happy Cow so we have it a try because it was close by. I had the seed club and he had the coconut burger and it was really great! So fresh and everyone working there was so nice! My fiancé is NOT vegan but even he liked it! Would definitely go back!

Must-eat in NOLA - Edit
This is one of THE vegan spots for any NOLA goer! The ambience is perfect full of friendly vegans and the staff is great. The poboys there are a must-eat for any serious vegan. The soda/juice collection is nice too!
Read moreThe restaurant is next to a neat little vegan boutique too. The lady who works there is cool and I got a cute vegan tee. Just look for the cow statue.
Pros: Po boys RULE, Friendly, Inviting, Welcoming, Nice location next to vegan boutique
Cons: Not super big

disappointed - Edit
I was excited to find a vegan restaurant in Nola however I found the portions small and the food expensive. It all felt a bit clinical. I think Nola has a way to go in vegan dining. I had a aubergine po boy and it took me 40 mins to eat as it was just too chewy.

Not impressed - Edit
I was super excited to try this place after all the great reviews and once I saw they had mac n cheese, I definitely wanted to try. The restaurant atmosphere is cute, and they had a wide menu selection which is nice to see in a vegan place.
Read moreHowever, it is veryyy over-priced and the food I had was mediocre at best. We started off with a small gumbo - which was really good, but it was $6 for an extremely small little bowl. We were then surprised to find out that the $10-$11 sandwiches didn't come with a side (except a few little leaves of lettuce they called a salad and you're not allowed to substitute) so you have to buy those additionally if you want fries or something. We tried the mac and cheese. It was clearly just a melted daiya cheese sauce and nothing special. And the cheese to noodle ratio was off - way too much cheese sauce. I don't recommend spending 5 bucks on it.
We also tried the burger that was on special which turned out to be a small patty in between 2 slices of bread - absolutely not worth $10 dollars.
Some of the other options that people around us were ordering seemed to have larger portions - the poboy sandwiches looks larger.
Overall, the portions were tiny and the food was just ok/meh. Wouldn't really recommend.
Pros: nice atmosphere , completely vegan menu, lots of smoothies/drinks
Cons: small portions , ok food

real relief - Edit
Thank goodness!!!!! Being a vegan in a town like NOLA is like being a sober person in a bar looking for fresh squeezed juice.
Read moreSEED was the antidote for my dilemma. It’s fresh, it’s flavorful, and efficient. Cassie, in particular, is sunshine in that place. Supremely helpful, insightful, and thoughtful.
Salads with miso maple dressing, Mac and cheese, southern fried nuggets, coconut burger are all great, but you really can’t go wrong with much on the menu.
This place was real relief for me and will be for you.

Friendly little place - Edit
We are traveling and always looking for vegan place, we were happy to find this one.
Read moreWe ate on the terrace and took the nuggets, artichoke cakes and chili fries. The nugget was impressive, it tasted just like the "real" thing! The artichoke cake was "OH MY". And the chili fries a little bit disappointed because it is the type of thing I can do myself and the "waffle" fries are not my preferred type of fries. Coming from Quebec, the fries are a big thing for us :)
Beside the food, the service and place was friendly. They adopt a green thinking all the way to the soap in the bathroom. It is a nice attention to details.
Pros: Great food, Small friendly place, Green
Cons: Far from downtown

Seriously...yum. - Edit
This was by far our favourite restaurant in New Orleans. A bit of a walk out of the core, but it was cool to see a different part of the city. You can also take public transit, and it gets you a block away, which is super convenient.
Read moreThe menu here is to-die-for. Our first visit, we ordered the gumbo and po boy...and then another po boy, because it was THAT delicious. We couldn't get over it. Like...the best sandwich I have ever had. We had the eggplant one, and we are just hoping we can somehow recreate it at home in Canada.
The gumbo was insanely flavourful!
Our second visit...we had the po boy again, of course ;) We also had the nachos to start...and daaaaaammnnn. Sooo good, filling, and wonderful cashew cheeze sauce to top it all off. Of course, we had to get the vegan version of the beignet, and we were NOT disappointed at all. So sweet. Not as fluffy as the original, but tasted sooooo delicious. We only wish we could have come here every day. Soooooooooo good!! GO!!!
Pros: The atmosphere, The menu options, abound! SOOO good!, The prices
Cons: A little far from city centre

Nice little place food is good - Edit
Had the quesadilla and the po’boy the quesadilla was really good, the po’boy was good but the bread was not toasted enough so it went a bit soggy, other than that the place is full of options, had some beignets as dessert and they were really really good. The location is a bit challenging if you coming from out of town, I went walking from canal street, where I was staying, and it was a mile away, through the museum district which is nice to see, but just before the restaurant there is an area not so nice of about maybe 2 blocks, other than that it’s a totally worth place to eat

LOVE!! - Edit
My friend and I went crazy in here, spending over $80. We started with artichoke cakes (best things ever) and she had a seitan po boy that was three special while I had a soup/salad combo of taco salad and chili. When we discovered how delicious the food is, we decided we needed to order dinner to go.
Read moreBut first, we had beignets. She grew up in LA so she's had them before but it was a first for me. I thought they were incredible. She really liked them too.
Then we ordered quesadillas and pad thai to go (This is a raw dish) for dinner. My friend also ordered a juice. Everything was delicious. We were very happy with our choice of Seed during our extremely brief visit to New Orleans.
Additional to the delicious food is the attractive decor, super friendly service, amazingly fast chefs, and pleasant atmosphere!
Highly recommended.
Pros: Great food, Something for everyone, Reasonable prices
Cons: parking

Food not worth the price. - Edit
Lunch for two cost $60 on a weekday. We’ve sent food back to the kitchen on each of the two times we’ve been there and would rate it disappointing for the price. We do love the atmosphere and there is a tiny vegan art shop next door that’s worth a visit while you’re there.

A must stop for vegans visiting NOLA - Edit
We came the day after Christmas and their power was out. Fortunately, they had a solar powered kitchen so they were able to make almost everything on the menu minus juices and smoothies, how awesome. My family of 6 tried several different items, the tofu po’boy, the crispy fried tofu (same tofu as in the sandwich which did make me wish I tried the eggplant sandwich instead lol), the gumbo with spicy seitan, the Caesar salad, and the beignets (a must try). I was so excited to finally be able to try beignets after seeing them all around the city, none of which were vegan. They did not disappoint, and even came out warm.

Amazing Vegan Food - Edit
I absolutely loved the meal that I shared with friends at Seed! We stopped in for brunch and ordered the nuevos rancheros southern fried nuggets and waffles, grits and grillades, and an order of beignets. Everything was delish! My only regret is not making it back to try their lunch items!

Fully comforting and flavorful vegan cuisine - Edit
I admire this place. I am so invested in the ability to get hot, fluffy vegan beignets or crispy, packed tofu poboys that I am willing to spend 50 minutes on two of the sub par New Orleans public transportation lines in order to make it to this restaurant from north of the city.
Read moreThe people are friendly and every menu item I have ever tried has been highly delicious and fulfilling. This includes the vegan take on mac and cheese, the gumbo, the southern fried po' boy, the beignets, the fried tofu nuggets, and the barbecue sandwich. They are all beyond your expectations of quality for any restaurant-served dish and they will fill your stomach. It is a cozy, modern, and lightly decorated space in the restaurant. I would dine here weekly if I lived closer.
Pros: Food as good as or better than traditional version, Laid back, sleek atmosphere and neighborhood, Very large range of menu items to select from
Cons: Items can get slightly pricey, Wait can sometimes be longer during peak hours

BEST VEGAN FOOD EVER - Edit
I visited this place with a couple of my friends yesterday. IT WAS THE BEST THING I'VE EVER DONE. I'm seriously obsessed. I may live 4 hours away from New Orleans, BUT I WILL MAKE THE FULL TRIP TO HAVE THIS FOOD AGAIN. The southern style po boy was phenomenal. The mac & cheese was delicious. The artichoke cakes were mind blowing. I can't recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favor: buy everything on the menu.
