Complete Vegan Experience - Edit
You'll find the Secret Vegan Cafe in a small building adorned with mushrooms outside and within. The owner warmly greeted us and told my nieces to each grab a holiday gift bag with a toy and a small board game inside. She explained that the other person who worked there wasn't in today, but dispite this, our food arrived quickly. The cheeseburgers were amazing when paired with the huge variety of sauces that lined the counter, including chili mango and truffle. The fries were soft with just a little crispiness, which is preferred for me since I find that many restaurants overcook their fries. The empañadas were a little on the small side and slightly too crispy on the outside, but the cheesy inside and mushrooms made it all worth it, especially when dipped in the delicious sauces, and two are included. The smoothie was sweet and delicious. Not too thin and not so thick that I had trouble getting it through the compostable (but very usable) straw. I hadn't had a beignet before, but it was a pillowy treat so soft inside. The very friendly owner checked in with us several times and made sure everything was perfect. My only regret is that they were out of apple pie, explaining that they were usually called in ahead of time with the order.
Read moreMy tip: call your order in ahead of time so that they have some time to prepare it for you, especially if you want the pie. This is a small business so I'm sure it will help them. Also keep in mind that seating is limited to three small tables that each seat 2-3, so if you're with a large group then consider picking up your food rather than dining in.

My spouse needed a pick me up after months of very virtuous and frugal eats at home, and we were passing by on our way to an appointment. I had passed the cute front of the shop a few times, but I wasn't able to make it when it was open.
Read moreI called ahead and checked to see if they were open, and it just happened that the owner was covering the kitchen. The menu is online, with breakfast, lunch and snacks listed, and we both enjoyed what we ordered. The owner was talking about their space and their choices for the restaurant, and was so charming.
We will come back with our kiddo, it's a great place for a family or a couple to stop in and eat abundantly without having to wonder if this really is vegan or has been cross contaminated by cooking on a grill barely scraped clean after a rasher of bacon. 🤢

Love that everything is vegan. We had pancakes, empanadas, beignets, fries, and the breakfast sandwich. EVERYTHING was delicious. It was so good, we ended up ordering an extra breakfast sandwich. The staff was super welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be back! If you are in the Woodstock/Kingston area, it is definitely worth going!

Great Little Cafe - Edit
Really cute little cafe with a limited but good menu. The burger was a Beyond (I believe) and was cooked well and we had some of their nuggets, I like the mushroom the best. Great hot sauce collection and we will be back to try more.

My hubby tried the various nuggets and really enjoyed the mushroom ones.
They had a ton of hot sauces to try which we really enjoyed. The spicy truffle one was my favourite.
We'll be back for sure.

Casual vegan gem in Kingston - Edit
I recently went here for lunch and was impressed with the food and atmosphere. The staff was friendly and talked with me about the menu so I could decide what to order. I really liked the outdoor seating, but the interior of the space was nice too. I will be returning here for more yummy vegan food. I love knowing that everything on the menu is vegan so I can order whatever I want!

We were looking for a lunch option on our way to Woodstock and this place was just the ticket. Very friendly, all-vegan with natural options (not just another spot selling impossible burgers). Great coffee. Great loaded fries. Very glad we stumbled upon this place. Their hot sauce collection is unparalleled.

I was super excited to try this place after seeing all of the 5-star reviews. I love supporting all-vegan businesses! Unfortunately, I didn’t think the food met the standards of other reviewers.
Read moreThe food was pretty pricy; we paid $8 for a vegan sausage, egg, and cheese english muffin (which I was told they are “most known” for). It was decent but tasted like something I definitely could’ve made in my own kitchen for less, and gotten other places for better. We also paid $8 for some “mushroom nuggets” which were super small, soggy, mushy, and lacked flavor.
To their credit, their smoothies and deserts are really delicious! It was one of the best fruit smoothies I’ve ever had, vegan or non-vegan. The atmosphere is also really cute, with lots of adorable outdoor seating. Staff were also really friendly.
I would not return. In my opinion, I think there are way better vegan places with better quality food and much better prices. ESPECIALLY in Kingston.

I'm not much of foodie but was blown away with how delicious the food was. We tried the breakfast sandwich and cheeseburger with fries and were blown away. Looking forward to trying all the items in the future! The staff were very friendly and even gave several treats to a customer's dog.

Burger light but tasty and filling and loaded fries are definitely unique! Fries have mushrooms, greens and beets,delicious! And of course I had to try the beignet! You should as well!

Stopped by yesterday morning and ordered a breakfast sandwich and beignets. It’s about an hour drive so figured why not. The breakfast sandwich was great. The beignets were solid as well. Will be back when I’m in the area.

Every time we come to The Secret Vegan Cafe we're blown away. Everyone who works there is so friendly and they always have small gifts for my daughter for the holidays. The burger is outstanding and the breakfast sandwich is perfection. It's a limited menu but everything they do is top notch and made with love.

I just ate at this newly opened, fully vegan, and fully delicious cafe and I am thrilled to have this in Kingston. Food was delicious, portions were big, prices are so reasonable, staff so friendly, and the space is charming. We had the cheeseburger and fries, mushroom nuggets, and beignets for dessert. Great drink selection too. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Also they have a free book library outside! Free parking in church lot right next door.
