Visiting ILM on business travel - I had to return to one of the single best vegan restaurants I've been to, ever. For three years I have told people the legend of Sea Level! And now, more 💚🌱
Read moreI had two of the hot dogs, the PETA awarded one and the buffalo one. I loved them both, would recommend the former if I had to pick one.
And the fries, the fries!!! Get the one with cashew cheese!
And the shakes, omg chocolate shake!!!

Cute little diner with great food. If I lived here in Wilmington it’d be a regular spot. Friendly staff. I had the tofu bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo and avocado with plantains, a chocolate milkshake and falafel appetizer. Everything was excellent. Highly recommended.

This is by far the very best vegan restaurant I’ve ever been to. It’s my absolute favorite. The vibes are so so good and the food was fantastic. I wanted to try everything on the menu. It’s super high quality tasty food yet also very affordable. Everything we tried, we loved. The entire staff was so friendly and made us feel so welcome. I am from out of town but will most definitely come back every time I’m in the Wilmington area.

This is my new favorite restaurant. The “shrimp” are delicious. With fresh cabbage, pickled onions and creamy sauce, the flavors and texture of this taco are exceptional The homemade tomato soup was creamy and flavorful. Even the croutons were delicious.

I had the taco salad and my meat eating husband ate the smack burger plus we had the falafel appetizer & nachos with the cashew queso. I also, took the oatmeal cream pie cookie to go - yum 😋

2) Also, it was nice surprise finding one of the falafel patties were heart shaped.
3) My husband said the burger was very good and tasted just how the server described it as, a "Big Mac".
4) The chili in my salad had a nice little kick but not overwhelming.
5) There are many options on the menu including A Meal of The Day AND desserts.
6) The waitstaff was friendly, easy going and attentive.

Sea level City is my go to spot, I live about an hour north and go there 2-3 times a month. It's the closest vegan restaurant to me and never disappoints. Their shrimp are incredible.

04/2025 update: I come to Wilmington a couple times a year and am so happy to have a good vegan spot! This place is a winner. I’ve had lots on the menu and there’s something for everyone! I recommend the hot chips as a side—fried to perfection! TLT, shrimp burger, lentil burger are all good!! There are also good salads if you’re looking for a more nutritious option, but the bulk of the menu is diner food.

Wow! We tried the shrimp burger with plantains side, the cheeseburger, and the crunchy Buffalo hot dog. They were all delicious. Portions were pretty generous and prices very reasonable.

My husband and I LOVED Sealevel and EVERYTHING is vegan! The tempeh reuben was fantastic...it's my favorite sandwhich so I am very particular about my reubens. The chili was better than my chili so I was quite annoyed by that. LOL. Seriously though, it was great! We also got a ton of desserts to take home after including BANANA PUDDING! OATMEAL CREAM PIES! CHOCOLATE CAKE! CHOCOLATE CHIP AND PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES! Everything was wonderful and I can't wait to go back and try more of their food.

We had a wonderful time at Sealevel. My husband loves all things fried and cheesy, so he ordered the Philly cheesesteak special with fried plantains. I like something a little healthier, so I ordered the taco salad. Everything was delicious. We shared banana pudding for dessert and took an oatmeal cream pie for the road. Everything was delicious, and the service was friendly and efficient. We thought the costs were reasonable too, which was a bonus. We would have paid much more for this meal back home in Charlotte.

All were great. Staff were fantastic. Sweets looked fantastic but I was too full.

All vegan! Lentil taco meat was soo goo! Got the nachos nachos & 1 shrimp taco! came in on Thursday around 2pm, was reasonably busy, but all staff was attentive, bubbly & service was fast! Sat at a table while I waited for my to go food! Diner vibe and I'd love to visit again!!

I recently went to Carolina Beach, NC for vacation and of course broke out the Happy Cow app and discovered Sealevel City Vegan Diner. Seeing the other good reviews about the diner, I decided to go there right when it opened for the day. Lo and behold I was blessed with an outstanding server, awesome food and atmosphere. I recommend trying ANY of the burgers. This go around, I tried the Porta Melt and some freshly made house fries. Overall, I highly recommend checking out Sealevel.

I've traveled to 60+ countries and always seek out the top vegan restaurants, but nothing in the world compares to Sea Level. It's consistently delicious and creative. Everything is delicious, but my go-to is the kimchi tempeh reuben— I've never had a better sandwich in all my travels. Their Thanksgiving catering option is so tasty and makes the holiday stress free. I only wish their coconut chai ice cream was a permanent dessert offered and not just seasonal!

Getting the Reuben is a must when I’m in town. It’s hands down the most flavorful, fulfilling sandwich in the 🌎. A side of their garlicky sautéed kale and I’m in Vegan Wonderland. I wish Sealevel was on a national level. It’s a truly one of a kind💚🌱

We totally loved this cute diner! It was the perfect stop on our roadtrip. So many options with something for everyone. Highly recommend: nacho fries! We had to stop ourselves from ordering 2 plates. The only con is that it’s too far away from home😄
