Sadly not great for veg, possibly not for anyone.

There is no understanding of good veg food here. Mushrooms, celery, Green bell peppers, green onions and uncooked tomatoes flavored with some cumin is not a tofu scramble at all. Potatoes are boiled and gross, filling, not enjoyable. The food is very bland and I feel like I'm eating water with some carbs & cumin.

Pros: An attempt is made, with non-meat and plant based, Good coffee

Cons: No real concept of how veg breakfast is- curries?, Breakfast potatoes boiled and flavorless

Beautiful people, beautiful food

Adorable little shack, with a very family vibe. I had the delicious Tofu Fun option that came with sourdough bread and a small fruit pot. The server also offered that if there were omelettes with a preferred mix of veggies on the menu they could make them vegan with tofu too. The server volunteered a heads up that the potatos and homefries were cooked in butter, which I'm always so grateful for info like that knowing that my vegan requirements are in safehands. They are cash or check only, but are happy to let you go to the cash machine across the street too.

Pros: Super friendly, accommodating staff with a chilled

Cons: A small con for me that the portion sizes were hug

Not so vegan friendly

We waited about 20 minutes for a table, but they have a self serve coffee station in the outdoor waiting area so we hung out and drank some coffee. Once we we had a table, it took quiet a while for them to take our order. Our waitress was really friendly though. I ordered the ‘veggy’ scramble special with potatoes and toast. The tofu was ok; it was cubed and pretty much unseasoned. Lots of veggies though, including broccoli, carrots, zucchini, and snow peas. I was told that the potatoes are usually cooked in butter, but they could make a batch with oil instead. So I ordered them, but they tasted suspiciously buttery. The sourdough toast is apparently vegan. Pretty typical small American diner. Popular brunch spot, apparently. I think this would be an ok spot for vegetarians, but wouldn’t recommend it for vegans.

Pros: friendly staff , big portions

Cons: long wait for a table , few vegan options

Vegan choices available

I went to breakfast today at Linda's Seabreeze Cafe. It's cozy and warm inside. While they serve tofu scrambles, I wasn't crazy about the seasoning of the tofu dish the last time I went but to be fair, it was several years ago. They may be better now.

I decided to just have the oatmeal with raisins. They offer both soy and almond milk. They also serve granola however I did not check if it contains honey.

It's a very popular breakfast place in Santa Cruz and vegans do have choices here.

Pros: Vegan options, Cozy environment

Cons: Small parking lot

What a Find!

People that live in Santa Cruz know about this great little restaurant, tourist haven't found it yet. What I love about it is the breakfast menu and the restaurant opens at 6:00am. The wonderful Tofu Scrambles are large, hearty and a great way to start a busy day. Being GF vegan I had no trouble with the breakfast menu; lunch menu might be a little more challenging but I am sure the friendly staff could offer suggestions. Most of the vegetarian/vegan restaurants in Santa Cruz don't open until 10:00am or 11:00am, the Seabreeze is an exception. Being early risers, my partner and I are looking forward to our next trip to Santa Cruz and a big breakfast.

Pros: Great Food, Exciting Menu, Helpful Staff

Cons: Only open for breadfast and lunch., Cash Only
