I have had wonderful comfort food before and I’m always happy when I can find it, but this place offers over 100 different items from breakfast to “shrimp” po boy sandwiches and it’s all made to order.
The cafe is in one of the most out of the way locations off Johnson Road in Ventura, and it appears that they are the last surviving restaurant in what was once a thriving food court, so make your day and satisfy your appetite at Seed Ranger.

We were driving through Ventura and needed good vegan food! My husband found Seed Ranger and they seemed to have something for all of us so we decided to stop by. So glad we did! Our food was amazing! I got the Golden Cali Roll! It was delicious and nice to have a sushi option that wasn’t just avo roll. That’s what my son got through! It was also delicious and they didn’t skimp on avo! Husband got the buffalo chicken sando. Also delicious! We also got some yummy candy bars that reminded me of Twix and Heath bars! Such a fun treat!

This place is incredible! The menu is HUGE, and everything we got was amazing. If you’re like us and have a hankering for several random items, this is the perfect place. We got a sushi roll (huge!), potato taquitos, a crispy shrimp taco, and French toast. 😂

Ventura Hidden Gem - Edit
There is such a wide variety of foods here that it’s hard to categorize this place. I’m partial to the Chicken BLT and the BBQ Chicken sandwiches. Both are served with hot seasoned fries that are also fantastic!

They say that a restaurant that has too large of a menu is not a good bet. They can’t do everything well. Seed Ranger does a very good job with the posole. The tuna melt was disappointing. All I could taste was melted cheese and an occasional pickle slice.

The beans and rice are sooo sooo salty as well as many of their other dishes. If they cut the salt amount down even 50% it would be plenty salty.

Our expectations were pretty low. Such a huge menu! Questionable other reviews! We didn’t know what to think. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed. The staff working were very kind, location was easy to find, and we really liked our food. Given there are not a lot of all vegan places around here, we would definitely come back.

Vegans of San Buenaventura can call off their search—a quality vegan restaurant is here! Unfortunately, if you don't Google "Seed Ranger" or "vegan restaurants nearby," when in town, you will likely never find it... But once you do find it, you'll be hooked. This is not fast food, so if you're on a lunch hour, order ahead online to avoid any time crunch issues. If you dine-in without ordering ahead, prep time can run 15-20 minutes, but the food is well worth the wait. Are you a vegan that is suffering from sushi withdrawal? Try the Rainbow Roll—it is more than enough for a full meal. Breakfast Burrito is excellent and huge. Loaded Taco is quite tasty. The BBQ chicken sandwich is a good too.

The food here is AMAZING!! Started as a non vegan spot that had vegan options, and the owner went vegan and turned his resultant vegan. My fiancé and I have tried a variety of options on the menu. As a sushi lover, I have to get sushi every time I come. My fiancé on the other hand, is more on the American loving side. Next time we stop we are committed to trying their Mexican and breakfast options! So I’ll update with photos when we get to try them. But everything we have had her has been 10/10. I get the cucumber Agua Fresca every time. My fiancé also loves the horchata. Very authentic. We have turned our friends and even non vegan family onto this place. Definitely a must try!!
