Delicious vegan options - Edit
Eating chip shop chips at the seaside is a MUST so it's fantastic to find places that use vegetable oil so that I can get some. Even better when they have extra vegan options - the banana blossom was delicious 😋

Finally a place that will cook chips to order in sunflower oil. The vegan Fish and chips and vegan nuggets were very tasty and the people in there were so friendly. Definitely will ring and order in advance next time as it did take some time to be ready. Check the website because they only do this on Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Family business, ethical, quality and efficiency. Can do gluten free on request (separate fryer).
Banana blossom doesn't taste like the fruit, when fried in the batter it's a a replacement for fish and chips if you miss that.

Vegan - Thursday to Sunday ‘only’ - Edit
Living just around the corner this is my local Chippy and lucky for me, the best vegan fish and chips I’ve ever eaten. Expect a big queue so do call in advance as everything is cooked to order
Read moreThe banana blossom was cut and flattened to give it a fish appearance which also prevented it from getting a mushy pickled inside. Nori added to the fishy flavour without overpowering it. It was a delight to eat and would have fooled most if it had been served as a new sustainable type of ‘fish’.
Portion sizes are huge too.
The vegan menu is cooked in a separate fryer which is switched off an hour before closing reducing the vegans hours of operation to the following:
Thursday 11.15am to 8pm
Friday 11.15am to 8pm
Saturday 11.15am to 7pm
Sunday 12pm to 5pm
It’s not always possible for the owner Nicola to get banana blossom, so do call in advance to avoid any disappointment.
Give it a try. I’m sure you’ll not be disappointed.

Wow! just had the banana blossom in batter with chips and was blown away with how it good it was. Portion size was massive and the texture and taste was superb with the nori seaweed adding that fishy flavour. Staff are lovely and location is just a short walk from the beach. A must visit.

Called in advance to order 2 vegan banana blossom and chips so the food was ready when we arrived. The portion was wonderfully big (I had plenty of left overs) and really tasty!
