Read moreI loved the flavor but the tofu chorizo was a bit wet and not my favorite texture. Would totally come back just for a bean and rice bowl with guacamole and toppings.

This is one of our favorites when we are visiting Siesta Key! The vegan protein options are delicious. Can’t go wrong with any! It’s really a toss up for which is my favorite. The veggie chorizo, masa cauliflower, and black bean falafel are all delicious! My favorite salsa has to me the smoked red pepper, a must try!

The Best Vegan Mexican Option in Sarasota County - Edit
We were so happy with our visit to Screaming Goat! 3 vegan options (black bean falafel, curried sweet potato, and vegan chorizo (which is made with tofu I think?)), all were so different from each other, they were delicious and extremely flavorful. Staff was super friendly and prices were very reasonable. We’ll be coming back for sure, highly recommend!!

I had the vegan chorizo and the curried sweet potato tacos and I preferred the former because it had more complex flavors. Though I would ask to omit the pickled onions next time. Fun atmosphere, friendly staff.

Cute place. I wish they had more vegan healthy protein options like a non spicy tofu or beans instead of just fried falafel or chorizo, but they have some vegan options. It would also be awesome if they would add some vegan cheese options.

Always have several vegan options and they're always yummy! Been coming since they opened. I love their unique offerings of salsa and things like cactus and curtido. I've enjoyed their tacos, salads, and bowls. Great craft beer and cider selection too!

My hubby & I were looking for some authentic Mexican food & chose this place based on the wonderful reviews we read. This small place in what used to look like a trendy place from days gone by wasn't an issue for us. We have been in worse & had better "authentic" Mexican food. One woman who seemed like the manager was friendly. We ordered a falafel (black bean) taco. Wished they had real beans for the taco. The taco was supposed to have pico, and cilantro with the taco. We did not get what was described. It tasted so horrible that we didn't even eat it. We were surprised that we were charged $5 for a can of beer too. My hubby wanted to complain but I didn't want him to. So we just left.

Delicious small taqueria in the middle of Gulf Gate Village. The owners and staff are wonderful and super fun to talk to. Food is delicious-black bean taco bowl with lots of guacamole and plenty of microbrews and non alcoholic drinks to choose from. Great for kids- they can draw on the wall! One of my favorite places to grab a bite.

I immediately liked this place before I even tried the food. As soon as we stepped foot in the door, my family and I were welcomed by the incredibly friendly staff. Customer service is a big deal to me and can make or break my experience. Even if the food would have just been mediocre, I would still go back just for that reason alone. The food was definitely not mediocre though. We got the taco platter with a mix of the different vegan options that they offer, and they were all delicious!! We will definitely be back for more!

We ate lunch at The Screaming Goat yesterday on the recommendation of our vegan friend. The restaurant name does not sound vegan-friendly, but don't be deterred! They have three very different, very delicious vegan tacos and many different toppings to choose from. The owner is super nice and friendly and very welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely be back! Great deal too. 3 vegan tacos plus chips and salsa for $10. Fantastic!

THIS WAS AMAZING!!!!!!! I eat tacos/Mex food fairly often and this hit all of my necessary components: variety in salsas, good tortillas, and multiple vegan options. I visit Sarasota fairly often and this is my favorite stop for vegan foods. I tried the Vegan Chorizo and the Falafel taco, as well as a salsa/quac sampler and a HUGE side of beans today when I visited. It was so good, I can not say enough positive things about it. Everything is really clearly labeled (including the toppings and salsas) and there were 4 vegan "craft taco" options to chose from. I cannot wait to visit Sarasota again just for the opportunity to eat at the Screaming Goat again. The non-vegs I was with really enjoyed their food as well, and also ordered some vegan tacos to try.
